Dog shampoo  

We use a spoonful Dawn dishwashing soap diluted in water on our pups to kill whatever fleas they pick up outside, then rewash with baby shampoo... it conditions nicely and they smell so good!
When I am feeling fine, they get bathed once a week... and the baby shampoo is enough then.

I don't know anything about dog shampoo, but I have a theory about cat shampoo. I once bought a bottle of anti-flea cat shampoo at Petco when the two indoor cats mysteriously contracted fleas. Following the thirty most harrowing moments of my life behind closed doors of the master bathroom, I immediately returned to Petco for a full refund of my unopened bottle.

My theory is that the same bottle of shampoo keeps being sold and returned. I don't believe that cat shampoo has ever been successfully used on a living cat.

My vet recommended washing the dog (a beagle) in Dawn dish soap to help with the dry skin, since it has added lotions to help not dry out skin of the person washing the dishes. We have a lavender and jasmine scented kind that we use only for the dog (I buy the cheap stuff for dishes!), so when she is clean and dry and getting her "good girl pettings", I also smell of her and say, "Smells like clean dishes!"

I use baby shampoo. It has a nice smell to it also. I also have a poodle and my dog sophies fur is always tangled so we even use conditioner on her fur. It works pretty well and so thats all i have to say. So use Baby shampoo. You dont have to use the most expencive brand but dont use the cheapest one eather just use one that is inbetween. Sometime when we are out of baby shampoo we just use the shampoo i use the human shampoo works best for my dog so ya.

I use johnson and johnson baby shampoo, it is gentle, ph balanced and smells awesome.

I lost my dog 4 years ago so haven't had a dog to bathe until 2 week ago - will introduce Shilo later but I've use nothing but Mane 'n Tail for years but then that's all I use for myself also - I love it.

We use baby shampoo. I had heard that it is gentle on their skin. The bought dog shampoos all have an awful smell.
However, I am bit concerned that there may be ingredients in baby shampoo that may irritate our dogs skin. Even if it is okay for human babies, it may not be good for dogs?

I use ti-tree oil shampoo. My dog's coat is really glossy. I also put garlic in her food and I think this helps too.

I have a spaniel mix mutt that has very sensitive skin that is easily irritated. I've found that Aveeno's body wash with oatmeal works the best. Plus it smells great! It's good for human skin as well as animal skin, but by all means, keep it out of the animal's eyes.
