Car alarms: The most useless invention known to man and a waste of money  

They are really useless, aren't they? They only make noises but cars still get stolen with or without them. I think the car would be safer if we put our pet cobra or python or lion to guard our cars. LOL!

I would like to invent a car alarm robot. That is, when someone gets remotely close to your car, dings your car, runs into your car whatever it is the idiots who have no respect for other peoples properties do when the owner of the car isn't around.... An alarm will go off, but that alarm will be a silent alarm as it will INSTEAD alert a robot who is in the backseat of your car (looking seemingly harmless as a box or stuffed animal or something) and this robot would get out of your car and become a robot and beat the crap out of the person who made the alarm go off and then shrink back to a box or whatever seemingly harmless thing it was so that the person who just got beat up by a robot wouldn't know what hit them, literally.

Ha! This is so true....I used to have a car that would activate its alarm only when I tried to remove its battery...I got so sick of that thing going off whenever I was fixing my vehicle that I finally found the wire leading to it and cut that thing off! Finally- blessed silence!

That about sums it up. If people want to steal something bad enough, they will find a way, car alarm or not.

I have to agree with you about these car alarms, especially in places where there is a dense population....people will ignore it rather than get involved. I would add smoke detectors to the list as useless since they do off for no reason a lot especially when you put them right next to the stove...duh! I also have very little use for the use of electronic ignition is gas appliances, give me pilot lights please. It used to be nice having gas appliances because you could use them even when the power went out....But not any more.

Car alarms are one of my real pet hates, they make the most awful racket and no one ever takes any notice of them. House alarms are another constant source of irritation. I have to say that one of the modern conveniences that really winds me up is the Walkman. Not the machine itself but the users who persist in having the things on full volume so you can hear that *hiss bip hiss hiss* noise.

My daughter has a car alarm but even though I swept all the snow off her car it didn't go off but when my wife banged it with the broom when sweeping the snow away from the car it went off. It did go off on its own unless my daughter stopped it while she was in the house. One visiting neighbor did come out.
I understand that microwaves kills any vitamins or other nutrients in your food and water. I use mine mostly now to heat up heating pads.

I don't like car alarms for the same reason you said but I recently read an article that said you should keep your car keys with alarm by your bed. This way if you hear someone you can hit the alarm and your car alarm will go off. I guess it is cheaper than a home alarm system so I'm going to try it.

I certainly agree with you on this one, ORyans. Car alarms are one of the most annoying inventions I can think of. Not a single night goes by where I live that I don't hear one or more going off for long periods of time. It does beg the question, why do they have them in the first place? I've always considered the toaster a useless item. I would much rather do my toast under the broiler or in the frying pan on top of the stove.

I saw something like that once, the alarm was going off for 21 minutes then it stopped just like that so the owner came outside not to turn off the alarm but to see why the alarm went off by itself, well the car was gone and pieces of the alarm was still on the curb where the car was
