Is It Just Me, or Is this Gross?  

I am a bit surprised that you did not learn from the first time that he claimed your gloves. No, it is not gross at all. I would have asked him to leave then when he was done for the day and would take delight in smelling the mixed sweat. You need to stop overreacting and just go with it.

I would only share those kinds of gloves with a family member or significant other. What if someone else's sweat got in them? Gross. I would share mittens though... if I was cold and had to borrow some or something. I don't know.. I guess it doesn't gross me out that much. Maybe if I never saw them wearing my gloves I wouldn't think about it and it wouldn't bother me. You should tell him to stop taking your gloves and to replace them for you!

I think John Baptist was a little rude (unlike his name) for taking your gloves not once but twice! I have not had this happen and it would not be as bad as the idea of someone wearing my underwear but it does fall somewhat along that line. I can understand why you would want to keep your gloves locked up in your toolbox.

Hahaha.... Personally I would not share gloves. However, if someone were to just "check out" the gloves for me, I would not mind :p

I feel John is one smart alec. He must have thought you bought the gloves for him in both cases and felt is safe to take the gloves after you have tested that it withstand the harshness. LOL.

I wouldn't have a problem sharing gloves, not that I wear them. These leather hard, forge scorched hands are tough enough that splinters & such aren't a problem. It would take a scalpel & a good bit of work to actually cut them.

A can sypathize with you on this one. A man's work gloves are his own and should not be used by others except maybe in a emergency. I had a job working with steel for over two decades and could not imagine another using my gloves. It is akin to another wearing your underwear...lol. A no-no in any profession requiring the use of gloves. But, I guess there might be exceptions and for some it wouldn't matter. Buy a few pair for the each of you and explain to him he is to use only his pair.

Anywho,yes i dont like this at all.EWWW!I could never wear a pair of gloves after someone else put them on and they were mine to begin with,especially hats!Yuck!I dont even like my bofriend putting my tossle hat on in the winter to go outside,i hide it,hahaha!Stupid me uh?!To me,this is like wearing a pair of my underwear,i most certaintly would not put those work gloves back on for sure!!Who knows where their fingers were!!Eww,Hahahaha!I guess im like you,exactly!when it comes to this sort of thing.

Like you, I do not enjoy sharing Personal items with people. They can be my loved ones, friends, acquaintances or strangers. No matter who they are or what they are, I do not share Personal items. =D
When I say Personal items, I mean items like gloves, undergarments, toothbrush and etc. The thought of sharing all these items with another individual gross me out too.
It's not that I am selfish but I do think Personal Hygiene is very important.
I do not mind sharing general items like pens, pencils and etc. =D
