Company Holiday party, to drink or not to drink?? That is the question.  

As long as you set limits before you go, you'll be fine.

The company I used to work for had their annual party at a Mexican restaurant with tons of tequilia and margaritas to go around. I had one to many that night, but did not drive home. I didn't get naked and table dance for my boss or anything, but I did get very quiet. I always get quiet when I drink, but we had a blast.

I think if everyone else is drinker and you like to have a drink occasionally there is nothing wrong with having a social drink with your work associates during the holidays.

I think it's ok to have a drink or two at your holiday party, however since it's in a work enviornment and your bosses will be there, I would say more than is a BIG no no. No one wants to see the people they have hired falling down drunk. It makes you look bad, and could lead to some seriously embrassing stories later! Who wants to be remembered as the guy who got so drunk he sang songs on tables with his butt hanging out and the punch bowl on his head?! Also, it could lead to some sexual situations that would most likely be inappropriate since it's people you work with.

honestly I think it is ok to drink but in moderation. I dont think it is right to drink to the point of actually getting drunk especially on company property with all your bosses there watching you. However having a drink or two I feel is ok as long as you can drive home after.

If alcohol is being served, it is appropriate to drink. But keep it under control so you don't embarras yourself or your spouse. You or they have to work with these people every day! It's just too bad that some people think they can't have a good time if alcohol isn't involved.

Hi LilMissB I use to drink at holiday parties. But the last couple of years I havent. I like to watch everyone get drunk.LOL It can be very entertaining!LOLIm happy with just drinking soda or coffee. My husband will have a couple of beers but he knows his limits. Happy partying! Be safe!

I think that drinking one or two glasses is not a problem, but, obviously, is not right to drink as much as slurry your words or make fool of yourself. In fact if you are only with your friends, it could be very wonderful, but if you are with your boss ... it could be very embarassing!!!

I personally don't think alcohol has a place at anything company related. That is just my opinion, though.

Work and alchohol generally don't mix. Even if they say, "go ahead, let loose", there are always people watching. You don't want to be the topic of conversation at the office on Monday because of your bad behaviour. One or two is ok, but, no more than that.

hi LilMiss.i think drinking a glass a or two does ont make any difference.however too much should be avoided.since its a social gethering and many a times people force you to take drink and thne you really cannot avoid,then its ok to take.i dont drink at all.however my partner does occasionally.be it my company;s party or his,i do not drink because i think it does no good to me,however for my partner drinking a glass in social gethering is ok.however drinking excess is not at all accepted in company's party.
