|  In a case where they are going after a man for producing and selling counterfeit Disney and warner Brother's items, the court summoned the charachters

It is believed to be a clerical error,
So many times we think of them as animated charachters and cartoons, and it does me heart good to think that there is even just one person that thinks they are real....I guess it means Disney and WB are doing their jobs
>"Unfortunately they cannot show up, as they are residents of Disneyland," Sorotto joked in a telephone interview. "It certainly pleased us that the characters were considered real, because that's what we try to do."
The Naples court will have to rewrite the summons, though this will probably delay the trial, said Disney lawyer Cristina Ravelli.<

| |  Haha That's the funniest thing I've heard in quite some time! Rofl that's like me asking Inuyasha to come to my birthday party! Lol! Only way it'd be possible is to have people dress up like the characters but it definitely wouldn't hold up in court. Well, maybe in Naples! Rofl if I ever have a court case in which I might include a fictional character as a witness, I might have to get someone to dress up as Kermit the Frog and call him to the stand, just for a laugh! Even if I lost my case it'd be worth it to see the looks on the faces of the people in the courtroom! Rofl! This is great!

| |  Though a bit far off from your Kermit example, one of my friends told me about a person who kept wearing wrestling masks to City Hall meetings. I can only imagine who else is dressing up like this or maybe even using costumes like you imagined. I wholeheartedly agree, both this and your story are great for a laugh. | |  I hardly ever watch cartoons, but I do have cartoon network and some other cartoon stations fixed to my favorites list, just in case I am in the mood. I do like the classic ones best. I like the roadrunner and the coyote, and Elmer Fudd hunting the peksy wabbit!

| |  I read about that and I thought it was so funny. I can just imagine what they were thinking when they typed up the summons. I used to work for a laywer and our secretary was very... Jessica Simpson minded and I can totally picture her typing up those summons and fully expecting them to show, lol.

and of course I watch cartoons, I'll never grow out of them! (I like the old ones, naturally... like Tom&Jerry, Tweety, Duffy duck, -I hate Donald, sorry guys!- Bugs bunny, and the list goes on and on...)

The point was it was funny that they wanted to see the characters in court....
Its news that gave me a smile.....that's all it was meant to do, hopefully make people smile at the thought of cartoon characters showing up in court.

| |  its really funny. but maybe they didn't know who the disney characters are. maybe they thought those were some weird names of some disney staff. ^__^;; that will surely delay the hearing though. too bad for Disney and lucky for the criminal. LOL
I watch cartoons when I was a kid but I never thought any of them were real especially talking animals. ^__^;; I did wish though that some of my favorite characters were real. LOL
