Do Satanists scare you? |
|
I am very creeped out by people who say they are satanists. I'm not very educated about the religeon, but I think it has to do with pleasing the self, and indulging in life. It's also associated with black magic and attracting evil spirits/ demonic spirits, which I am very very afraid of. I would never want to be a satanist. What are your thoughts on satanism? DO you know anyone who is a satanist?

2. Springlady (2039) | 3 years ago | Hi megumiart,
No, satanists do not scare me. I do fear for them though. Everyone need Jesus Christ as He is the only way to Eternal Life.
The Bible does warn against such acts that you mentioned and they are of the devil. With Christ, we have nothing to fear.
Just pray for them!
God bless:)

| thetruesatanist (9) | 2 years ago | wow I am really starting to dislike you Springlady
Also Satanism is not scary (and unlike the Christians Bible the Satanic Bible says not to harm children lol) I can't understand why you could fear us we won't harm you unless you harm us (after all our saying is "do unto others as they do unto you")

|
|
shewolf52002 (630) | 2 years ago | I am wondering exactly where in the christian Bible does it advocate harming children? I recall the verse that says if you prevent a little one from coming to him you would be better to have a millstone around your neck and thrown in the depths. My paraphrase but that is the gist of it.

3. Latrivia (1579) | 3 years ago | Satanism is a very broad term. Religious, non-theistic satanism A.K.A LaVeyan Satanism consists of focus on the self and indulgence in one's desires. It, however, has it's own set of rules and is not the "child killing, animal sacrificing" religion some say it is.
Other forms of Satanism, usually involving "Devil Worship" and obsession with evil spirits are, what I like to call, Christian Satanism, as they address the opposite side of the Christian religion.
I know a few Satanists, and almost became one myself. However, I long ago came to a conclusion that I already live the way mosts Satanists do and, by default, hold most of their beliefs. Satanism doesn't scare me, so much as amuse me. To me, it just seems like an attempt to mock the Judeo-Christian religion by a man who wasn't very fond of those particular religions.

4. Ravenladyj (18010) | 3 years ago | I actually did know a teen a few yrs back who was a Satanist..really sweet kid too (we knew each other via email) and I know several ppl, including myself who've read up on, researched and learned about the various "types" of satanism etc so no I am not afraid of it at all LOL In fact, much like what Latrivia said, I already hold many of the Satanic beliefs. I live very much with a Satanic philosophy in life TO AN EXTENT...Satanism is actually a very interesting religion to study and there is absolutely nothing to fear in it at all..
I also want to say that there really is NO SUCH THING as "black magic"...Magick is just magick...there is no colour to it, it just is..
| |
| |
|
|
skinnychick (3317) | 3 years ago | Then why do Wiccans refer to their "magick" as white? Where did the term black magic come from then? Just wondering
| |
|
|
zukepr (11799) | 3 years ago | For the record skinnychick I am Wiccan and I DONT refer to the magick I do as "white"! Magick really has no color, its neither black nor white
| |
|
|
skinnychick (3317) | 3 years ago | Okay- that goes against things I have read and seen about Wiccans-
| |
|
|
zukepr (11799) | 3 years ago | No 2 Wiccans practice or think the same exact way
| |
|
|
lecanis (7212) | 3 years ago | Yup. A lot of Wicca depends on making decisions about things yourself, or learning directly from your own experience. Some of what a particular Wiccan practices might have come from the person who taught them, or if they studied on their own, what books they read. Try grabbing a few Wiccan books and seeing how much they actually agree on. It's all dependent on what the author actually practices and who they learned from.:P
The nice thing about this is that it leaves room for people to walk the path that is best for them without being held back by artificial boundaries. The bad thing about it is that you can't really say "Wicca means..." or "Wiccans believe..." about much of anything and have it be true for every Wiccan. It makes Wicca a very hard thing to explain.
*laughs* Sorry, I shouldn't butt in about Wiccan things since I'm not Wiccan myself, but I've spent most of my life involved in religions activities with Wiccans because frankly... there just aren't that many Celtic Reconstructionists around!

5. mmiller26 (1233) | 3 years ago | I guess if you believe that there is a satan, then the prospect of satanism can be quite scary. I don't believe in Satan, so I don't give it much thought. I'd likely think that anyone who was practicing satanism was silly, sort of like believing in David Copperfield or Criss Angel or something. (at least they're entertaining). But then, I feel that way about organized religion as a whole, whatever the flavor.

6. lecanis (7212) | 3 years ago | I have had several Satanist friends, and all of them have actually been very ethical and nice people. I haven't ever had any of them treat me badly, nor have I ever seen them traffic in any kind of dealings with "evil" spirits. If anything, they tend to tread "neutral" spiritual ground.
The main ethical viewpoint that I've noticed and understood Satanists talking about is actually treating others how they deserve. Which means not only being kind to those who are kind to you, but also harming those who harm or threaten to harm you.
I've never met a Satanist who believed in the Christian devil as an actual being, and the only people who worshiped that figure that I've known have called themselves "devil worshipers" not "Satanists".

EXACTLY!!!!!! Satanism and "devil worship" are two different things entirely!

7. wisedragon (2185) | 3 years ago | No they don't scare me. As long as I remain good I know I'm going to heaven. They're the ones who are going to burn in hell, so I think they're the ones who should be afraid.

8. skinnychick (3317) | 3 years ago | I personally don't know anyone who is a satanist and probably wouldn't want to- they just look creepy. I don't believe in a Christian god therefore Satan doesn't exist in my eyes either. I think human life in general deals with indulging in life and pleasing oneself we all do things day to day when life is revolving that would fit this description- I don't think that is necessarily a Satanism thing. Black magic and worship of evil spirits is probably what it has more to do with. What's really creepy is that Satanism is recognized as an organized church and religion...created by Anton Levey in the 60's and he wrote the Satanic Bible- which goes over what they believe and what they call black mass. I studied them in school during an Anthropology course. I also think there might be 2 kinds of Satanists- ones that actually go to the Satanic church and ones who just want to be satanists and make it up as thego along- sacrificing animals and playing with Ouija boards-usually high school rebellious types. That's my 2 cents!

Ravenladyj (18010) | 3 years ago | "they just look creepy"
LOL excuse me?! Just out of curiosity, what exactly do you think a Satanist looks like??
| |
|
|
skinnychick (3317) | 3 years ago | Have you ever seen Anton Levey? Creepy- especially the certain ones who find it to dress like Dracula on TV documentaries...

zukepr (11799) | 3 years ago | Actually skinnychick I find Anton Lavey to be a very attractive man

Ravenladyj (18010) | 3 years ago | Yes I have seen photos of him and I don't think he's creepy at all..He looks like a regular guy and he is actually attractive (or was I should say LOL) well back in his younger yrs..not so much so when he got older..

|
| thetruesatanist (9) | 2 years ago | yeah and there is no certian way that a Satanist dresses (a lot like athiest) I'm a goth or as you would say someone who looks like Dracula lol also we don't use "black magic" we use magic it is because even magic seen as evil or bad (AKA black magic) is seen as good or helpful in the eyes of the user. One more thing, we don't worship evil spirits the only thing we see worthy of worship is ourselves (we are our own god so who better to worship lol)
and one more little thing Satan doesn't exist in our eyes either we just see him as the desires of humans and as long as the don't harm ourselves or others then we should indulge ourselves in them

10. LittleMel (6484) | 3 years ago | from what I heard the actual satanist is the one who worship the devil thus they are the followers of satan, their rituals include sacrificing people or animals. other than that they are just selfish self centered people, that will do unto others what others do to them. well if this is the case then probably you can call me satanist since I believe I should be kind to those who are kind to me, and cruel to those cruel to me. It's strange I do believe God exists but I've met some people claimed to be His followers in reality are not. I definitely am not the first category which is devil worshipper. I can't kill anything or anyone no matter how much I hate them. maybe I can intentionally hurt someone that hurt me, but taking their lives is something else

BethTN81 (213) | 3 years ago | How many stories have you heard about people being murdered bc of sacrificing? That is a perversion of their religon. I do not approve of their beliefs, but I also know a little about how they worship. I don't agree with it, but they are NOT evil. They are brainwashed to thinking they worship for the good of mankind. Think about it. Satan is the king of temptation and sin. Sin is normally pleasing to the eye. Their religon seems peacful, but deep down it is dark, and their ways are not the ways of the bible.

jazzygunz (123) | 3 years ago | I have to add that satanism is basically worshiping santan. Not relly the devil himself. But I have to say that I would not be one who you do stuff like that because I am a firm beiliver in GOD. I do think though that all religions make sense to the people it appeals to.

| thetruesatanist (9) | 2 years ago | wow when I thought people couldn't be any more ignorant
you people need to do some research cus the kind of satanism you are referring to is just a Christian heresy and therefore a form of Christianity (NOT Satanism)
(read some earlier post if u want to learn anything these people know nothing of it)
| |
|
|
| thetruesatanist (9) | 2 years ago | one more thing for your "I can't kill anything or anyone no matter how much I hate them." I beg to differ your bible say to stone disobedient children and that is just one of many horrible things it says to do to people (which include killing people who don't fallow your religion)
