A simple motif of glittering polka dots turns ordinary glass ball ornaments into something special. Throw in a few free-form swipes of silver or gold, and you have the makings of a truly unique Christmas tree decoration.
Materials and Tools
Round, plain glass Christmas ornament
Crafts glue
Pencil with unused round eraser
Glitter in silver or gold
Paint marker pen in silver or gold
Instructions
1. Using the photo as your inspiration, dab the round eraser end of a pencil in glue and dot glue randomly onto half of the round glass ornament. (To keep ornament steady, drape a small cloth over a small-mouthed glass, then nestle the ornament in the mouth of the glass.)
2. Sprinkle glitter onto glue. Let dry.
3. Use a paint marker pen to create random swishes and swirls as shown.
4. Repeat steps on opposite half of the ornament.

| |  Very pretty. This weekend at the resort I work at we made ornaments. We took clear glass bulbs sprayed glue mixed with warm water inside them. Make sure the whole inside is covered. Sprinkle in glitter we used red mixed with gold. Shake until the entire bulb is covered Replace the top and tie on a string. They reall look great on the tree and the kids loved making them too.

thanks. i think they are pretty Christmas ornaments as well just to have some glitter and glue on them. you know?
and no, i am planning on waiting until after Christmas and buying up some ornaments when the stores have their 75% off sales. i will get them alot cheaper if i wait instead of buying them now. then if i do not make them this year, i will put all of the things up and make them next year. :)

thanks. i think that the Christmas ornaments are pretty. and yeah, that is usually what i do as well with the Christmas ornaments, is buy them and bring them home and hang them on the Christmas tree. lol. and you had a very neat idea for the children to make one each year and they could make a different one each year. that is cool.
