Feeding the birds.

I love feeding the birds, any birds I love going to the local park and feed seagulls, pidgeons, ducks and swans, I just love them, I have one special duck at the park he has a broken wing and the last time I went to the park he came running up to me, I just love them all.

hi huswyf great to read about the variety of birds who visit your place for a snack.
Here in Germany something really weird has happened. When I moved into this apartment I decided to have some birds food outside for the wintertime. No bird discovered it, to my amazement nothing happened.
I was sad and somehow forgot about that birds food out on the balcony.
In March this year when I had two weeks off, suddenly I noticed some mess on the balcony table and soon saw that a sparrow tucked in. Over summertime number of birds increased, sparrows, some finches, and some others, they had their schedule of visiting us and for all the summertime they had the balcony to themselves.

I thought well, I wont stop giving them some snacks though Mother Nature provides them with enough good food out there, so they know there is something good waiting for them here and this time in winter when its really hard for them to find something they will stay.

Thats what I thought. My birdie friends decided otherwise. For about one month now none of them are seen any more, the bird food stays untouched on the table as last winter.

Wondering about their logic.
