American Presidential Debates Should NOT Be In Spanish!

when you draw the lines and predicyions, in 2050, the debates will be en Espanol~ to see who gets into "el brown casa"

I agree with you, and I truly wish that someone would stand up to make English the official language of America.

But you are so very right even if they could understand the debate, they wouldn't be able to vote, and what sense is it,

Unless they want people to know where they stand on illegal immigration....

Well, I hadn't heard about this, but it doesn't surprise me none... look at all the money they US is getting from all the illegals here. They are spending their money here and paying sales taxes on their purchases. They out number every minority here now... they are the majority.

We are maybe "unofficially" a bilingual nation. So that means if the debaters don't know Spanish, they are going to have to learn it! I think they need to learn English if they are going to be involved in the politics here.

I wonder if the debates, if they are given in Spanish, is a call to embrace the illegals because economically, I guess this country needs them. Without them our country would have a lot less money... just a thought.

To me this is so outrageous, I dont care which party Republican or Democrats, no presidential debates or anything political should be in any language but English. After all this is considered an English speaking country.

Wow, I missed that one. I barely watch the debates as it is but this is getting out of hand. I agree that the debates should be in English since that is the majoirty language spoken. I also agree that if they are going to alter it then they should do so for ever other language spoken in this country not just one. Wow I guess the GOP are really hurting for votes this year.

I don't understand why you would feel that one would expect it from a democrat but not a republican, but okay??? I can't believe that anyone running for presidency would want the debate in Spanish with the hot topic being our illegal immigrant problem. It seems risky and would cost them votes. However there are a lot of spanish speaking legal immagrants who actually refuse to speak english and yes if you are a legal citizen you need to realize that American's speak English!!! But they don't. Infact some relatives in Kansas told me that they had a problem where Mexican immigrants where trying to make the schools switch to speaking all spanish and got all these signitures of spanish speaking people who didn't want their children to go to school and forget their spanish language for English. The state of Kansas actually had to make a big statement and put it on paper that the official language of Kansas is English. So riddiculas. Really we need to stop because it's starting to force more Americans to learn Spanish rather than these immigrants to learn English and that is just wrong. They came here not the other way around.

Wow, that's messed up. I didn't know about this yet. I was going to say that maybe it was done so the Republicans could get their message across that they want the illegals out of here, but I read in one of your comments that the issue of the illegals wasn't touched on, and instead praising of legal immigrants was mentioned. I am sure that people are emailing and calling their politicians letting them know they are mad about what happened. Do you think it was a media call and the politicians didn't have anything to do with it?
