| | Yes, but I hated it. We were required to live in dorms when I was in college, unless we were really old or had served in the military. My roomies drank like fish, went out with low-life boys, and made noise 24/7. I spent as little time in the dorm as possible. I'm glad you had a good time, though, and had nice roomies. I also hope the food in your dorm was better than that in mine. Our dorm food was awful except on Wednesday when they served a ratty looking but edible steak. They wouldn't let the women into the cafeteria that night without dresses, high heels, and nylon stockings on. The men had to wear suits and ties. Once practically the whole dorm got food poisoning. I think it had something to do with cockroaches in the scalloped corn. They told us it was just the flu, but gave us all some pills. They would not tell us what was in the pills. I didn't take mine and the ones who did take them did not seem to be getting well any faster. I think half of them were placebos anyway. | | | | | | |

| | Hi dear hope u must be doing well i have studied in public school and it was 90% residential school so i end up staying 4 yrs in doormatry. it was not that liberty as u have in college dorms, we have to follow strict discipline and timings, like it was fic time to wake up, exercise, breakfast, school, lunch, games, study, prayers, dinner and light off. we were not allowed to go out of school peremises, no music and otherthings were allowed but even then it was reallu great and we have great time there. i learn to live a disciplined life there and not to talk about punctuality, lol and u know its always more fun to do "youth " things when u have rules to follow, LOL sure it was fun and i can still recall that time take care

| | that's nice coz you've learned a lot and you enjoyed it even though i personally think you have really strict dorm rules... in our dorm, we didn't have curfews, we'd bring our own food coz we had a kitchen that you can use and we can watch tv and listen to music all day long if we wanted to... no lights off either... wow, i just realized how lenient our landlord was to us. LOL! thanks for responding cupid XOXOX | | | |

| | I was a Dorm Captain and I enjoyed the sense of self importance as the incharge of the dormitory very much. I had a special office and a side room-with a lot of freedom. My efforts in mobilizing the Dorm members to participate in sports made my Dormitory feared by other Dorms because we were always the top athletes of the College. I relish every moment of my time as a Dorm Captain in college | | | | | | |

| | Yup! College dorm! it was cool! you meet people from all walks of life and from different places. The dormitory curfew was 12 midnight but if want to go home late (gimiks) we just came in on a taxi and the guard wont check hahaha! It was a great experience. You get to budget your money well because you decide where to eat dinner, what to do and when to do it. A false move on your allowance will mean surviving with instant pancit canton until your next allowance! hhahahah! And then there was the illegal electrical appliances. The dorm charges us some fee for all of our electrical appliances and water heaters are not allowed (too much electricity). So we keep them hidden and take them out at night - small TVs, iron, water heater... oooops now they know why the dormitory electric bill was high :D | | | | | | |

| | LOL! seems like you really enjoyed it! well i'm glad you did coz if you haven't tried living away from home, you're really missing a lot. ;) as for our case, we could bring anything we want... since it's a girls dorm, we have all the best power consuming appliances you could ever think of... we had irons, blow dryers and flat irons, tv, stereos, air conditioner, laptop and desktop computers, electric fan... you name it... we even had these extension cords with multiple sockets often resulting to octopus wiring... which by the way is very dangerous! but we didn't care back then... LOL! we just simply had fun! XOXOX | | | |

| | staying in a dormitory gives you the privilege of meeting new friends... you meet all sorts of people which could sometimes be difficult coz you have to adjust with their way of living and put up with some of their "not so good" personalities... lol... XOXOX | | | |

| | I met few good and yet forever friends in the dorm. We have lots of conflict related stories. Fighting scenes in the room or with the other girls from the other units (since we have sportsfest, competition was stiff). We also had this set of dorm ghost stories and ofcourse dorm adventures. :) The most memorable was from a women's dorm, we transferred to a male infested dorm. Which was OK, because we were the only girls back then hehehe! we made a lot of friends in the said dorm. :) After a year, an additional room for girls was provided. :) | | | | | | |

| | ah yes, the ever popular ghost stories... that's the best part! i too experienced a lot of "strange happenings" in our dorm coz the dorm was haunted when we first moved in... the dorm was an old, eerie abandoned house before it was rebuilt so since we were the one of the pioneers in the dorm, spooky things were really bound to happen every night... thanks for sharing your experiences tryxiness! | | Ghost Stories!!! Dorms always have ghost stories! The most popular ones are, of course, the white lady of the Men's Dorm... and the doppelganger <-- this one was the most consistent. There were cases when one of my dormates talked to his room mate in the restroom (it was a community bath) and his room mate just kept nodding. When he went back to the room, he saw this room mate fast asleep and asked him if he went to the rest room, to which, his answer was, he was asleep and never went out of the room the whole night! creepy | | | |

| | nop i never have tried staying in a dorm. During college days until i finished it i was just living with my parents house, our house. School are not far so i dont need to stay in a dorm and it saves a lot too but of course that doesn't mean i am not independent and i have a lot of friends and schoolmates that are staying at the dorm and through them i have known and learn something from their life at the dorm. | | | | | | |
