Freedom Writers  | |  Just watched this movie the other night with Hilary Swank and Patrick Dempsey. I wasn't impressed at first, because it seemed like a bunch of whining from the mexicans and blacks about how they have to live their lives and it's not their fault. When Hilary started to find a way to show them how much in common they had and that they didn't have to live the kind of lives they did, there were other choices, I was impressed. I also liked how the Holocaust was implemented into the movie, and showing the kids that other people in history had been treated worse, and/or could relate to them. I didn't like Patrick in the movie too much. Scott Glenn played Hilary's dad in the movie, and he was great.
What did you think of this movie? Did you know, before watching it, that it was based on a true story? I didn't.
