Someone Stole My Christmas Tree |
|
Okay I can't seem to find my Christmas tree this season. It seems to have been stolen this season. How could someone do this to me? Why would anyone at all steal a Christmas Tree? Well, it's not really gone but....It's usually up by Thanksgiving Day each year. My wife & daughter are the ones who usually put the tree up. But with dads walking being very hard going & with my wife having to travel to Michigan etc it seems they stole the tree & have yet to return it to set it up. So it seems this year there will be no tree. Oh well. Are you NOT having a tree this season? If so why not? Please share. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

1. luvstochat (6679) | 3 years ago | I put my tree up the day after Thanksgiving my kids were yelling for me to put it up. Maybe your wife and daughter will get your tree up for at least Christmas Eve if not where will you put your presents? Have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year.

oneandonemakesix (24038) | 3 years ago | My kids too were bugging me for a tree, but we had to wait so that we had the money to buy one, we managed to get a decent one, not the greatest, but decent, at Target last weekend, the stores are starting to clear the trees out now and many places are having sales on them.
But I hope you are right that GndpaB's wife and daughter will haul it out on Christmas eve and surprise you with it on Christmas morning.

webeishere (12502) | 3 years ago | Nope they won't be putting it up. Im positive of that. The wife has had a hectic month and doesn't feel like it and my daughter has one more visit here before then and she won't either. I'm content with it as it is this year I guess. Thanks and Seasons Greetings to you and yours also. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

2. oneandonemakesix (24038) | 3 years ago | Dear Grandpa B
I am so sorry with the twists and turns of life that you won't be doing a tree,
And just maybe your wife will surprise you and get it out and put it up.
if all else fails get a small 'Charlie Brown' Tree so that you have something, it doesn't have to be great,
My tree is up, and the lights are on, but I have yet to maek the ornaments.
I've got 3 ornaments on the tree right now from my Sunday night fiascal, and it was a mess, the one came out because I got it out before it hardened to breaking point, only 1 other ornament came out...
But I am also thinking of doing maybe a few applesauce ornaments as well....where you use equal parts of store bought apple sauce and cinammon to decorate it.
Why don't you have your wife and duaghter put up the tree and then have all the grand kids decorate it....and it cold be interesting....

4. OreoCookie3 (18831) | 3 years ago | I don't have a tree either this year. We had it up for a couple of weeks and then we had to take it down because we are trying to get organized for the move we will make just after Christmas. We enjoyed it for a while, but it just seemed to get in the way so we took it down.

5. susaneverson (4945) | 3 years ago | As I was raising my children christmas was a little bitter sweet for me. One of my children pass away during the season and each year a part of me greived while I was celebrating my children. After my children moved out and before the grandchildren started coming I didn't put up a tree, a little self indulgent but I felt that after all those years I could do it without harming my living children. Now I have grandchildren, parents, brothers, sisters, neices, nephews,,,,,,,all gather in my home so I no longer indulge myself and put a tree up. Susan

6. kimlot (4368) | 3 years ago | If I waited for my husband to put up a tree we would not have one! I have a four foot fake tree that I bought at Rite-aid eight years ago and would love to have a real one but it is never going to happen. So I will just have to wait till this one slowely dies a sad death over the years and throw it out and then I may not be putting up a tree at all. The tree however nice does not make the holiday!

webeishere (12502) | 3 years ago | We've an 8 foot tree for every year. This I think is the first time I have not had one as a family. True, the holiday is made by friends, family, and especially loved ones. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

8. tammyr (3436) | 3 years ago | Well at least you have a small one. We had a 'real' tree last year. We cut down two scrub pines that my daughter picked out and tied them together. It was a Charlie Brown tree at best. But she picked them and they were spectacular! Christmas is about love and family. I think you have enough love in your family and home that you can do without a tree and still be happy. Merry Christmas Grandpa Bob, i have missed you, but I think I am back this time for a real effort to stay around. Hope to be seeing you around!!!

9. sweetgirl_k1 (3158) | 3 years ago | We put a tree up this year. If it was up to me I wouldn't put one up because I watch kids in my home and they are always trying to mess with it. But my husband said we had to put one up for my son so we did. My son loves it but he keeps taking ornaments off of it and he has already unwrapped three gifts that are under the tree and they weren't even his. LOL

|
webeishere (12502) | 3 years ago | When we had a cat she would always climb our real trees to the top shaking off the ornaments but we dealt with it. Kids and a tree are always a nuisance at times. But still fun to watch them. Once again it depends on each individual kid too. Yikes unwrapping others gifts? Next year wait till Christmas Eve to set the gifts under the tree I'd say.
