U.S. Navy Recue a 14yo Girl  

Just read this yesterday, a 14 year old girl who suffered a burst appendix while on a cruse ship (didn't get the name of the ship)off the coast of southern California in the pasific Ocean was rescued by the United States Aircraft Carrier The Ronald Ragen. The cruse ship was too far from port to turn back and make it in time to save the young girls life so they put out a distress call and the US Navy came to the rescue! The Carrier was aprox. 500 miles away and steamed twards the cruse ship, when they came close enough to send a chopper (about 150 miles) they air lifted the girl to the carrier where she underwent appendix surgery. She's doing fine and is expected to make a full recovery.
