Where NOT to shop 2 days before Christmas.  

Some Walmarts and groceries are open 24 hours - so just go when a lot of people wouldn't be shopping - between midnight and 6 am :)

UGH! I tried Walmart, and we ended up standing in line for more time than it took to do the shopping. They don't keep up on their advertised promise of having more lanes open when it's busy, that's for sure. I also went to Walgreen's and Rite Aid, and they were both jam packed. I've got to learn to do my shopping much earlier than the week before Christmas! LOL

No way would I go anywhere near a major store this close to Christmas! I hate Christmas shopping and all of the crowds! I ordered some of my gifts from Swiss Colony online this year...no hassle!

No I am done but went on Friday night to get my groceries thinking there wouldn't be many there and it was also packed! I am glad I am done. Now I am waiting for the after christmas sales...but I wait a day!

I avoid Walmart on ANY day. They have long lines any time I go in there. I walked out last week and left a cart full of stuff because the checkers were just so darn slow. The Target store out by me is always GREAT, they always have plenty of registers open. I have decided to boycott Walmart from now on, the few pennies I save is not worth the STRESS I get from being in there. I need a few last minute things and will probably go out to the mall at 6 AM tomorrow- there's never crowds when you go out that early!

I made the mistake of going to best buy last night, and they were packed. I never saw so many people. And the store ad put alot on sale that wasnt advertised. That was nice. i picked up a few great dvd movies for 5.00 each. These were like 13.99 movies at walmart. So im glad i went but cant imagine wht that store is like today.

Hi Mooch. It is a day before Christmas here in Sydney. So this is not really the time for me to do shopping. I did my shopping last week and made sure that I have everything ready for the whole week. Fresh food like veggies and fruits (from our shop) and some meat will be brought tonight by hubby. What I will be doing the whole day is clean the house, look after the kids, prepare nice dinner, iron some clothes for tomorrow. Have to wake up early for the morning mass. We gonna spend the whole day tomorrow at my in-laws'. I am missing my family in the Philippines. Anyway, have a nice day ahead. Take care. Enjoy your Christmas. - Toni

We went to Barnes & Noble, Petsmart, a local guitar shop and out to eat at a Sushi place. All of them were no busier than any other Saturday. Traffic was not bad at all. The girl at Petsmart said she went with her mom to Walmart and waited in line an hour, but walmart here is like that every Saturday during the day. I really do not think the stores were are crowded as they usually are during the holidays around here.

As for your list, I rarely go in to Best Buy because they are like walmart, only a few lanes open and always a line on the weekend and on Tuesday (when new releases for everything come out). Target here is not bad, but there is only one for our metro area so they are usually quite busy and they are attached to a mall.

nah, not on Sunday, but I did go out late last night from 10 - 11 pm and walmart was packed nuts, horrendous just getting to a register amongst the crowd. I guess it does not help that walmart is the only store in our puny town.
