God did a typo when he typed out a list of animal names. |
Can someone please explain why a butterfly is called a butterfly when it clearly carrys no dairy product but by it's very nature and style of flight it should be called a flutterby.
Why would it be called a butterfly over flutterby?
Other than god making a typo (no spellcheck back then) why would this of happened?

3. Goodie123 (7548) | 3 years ago | Excellent point Mr X. I think a butterfly should be called a flutterfly. But then that does not make sense either because it is not fly. So it would have to be called a plain old flutterer.
Now on to some serious business my wee laddie. When are you going to show me the creation your mum is wearing on your wedding day. I do not wish to turn up in the same creation.
| |
| |
Goodie123 (7548) | 3 years ago | OMG I am so glad I asked you, that is exactly what I was wearing. Now I have to find another creation.
| |
xboxboy (1813) | 3 years ago | you keep it, i would prefer mum to change!
| |
Goodie123 (7548) | 3 years ago | No Mr X, I am sure your mum searched high and low for that beautiful creation. She will be so broken hearted if she has to choose another. Why spoil her day for her. Afterall she is not only losing a son she is gaining another mouth to feed.
| |
dfn12968 (5538) | 3 years ago | And believe me, this mouth needs to be fed a lot!
As for the dress, since the bride is supposed to be the most beautiful, I'm nixing it all together! I don't want anyone overshadowing me on my wedding day!:-P
| |
Goodie123 (7548) | 3 years ago | Aw gee D, are you sure you are not jealous, because you will be in white, and MIL will be in such a err yeah creation.
| |
Transdisc (18489) | 3 years ago | No worries, D. It's just not possible for you to be overshadowed!
| |
Goodie123 (7548) | 3 years ago | Trans, Mrs Trans could wear one like it also. Oh what a sight to behold.
| |
xboxboy (1813) | 3 years ago | i need trans to be the best man.
| |
Goodie123 (7548) | 3 years ago | thats okay Mrs Trans can be flowergirl.
| |
xboxgirl (251) | 3 years ago | as much as i would luv to be invited to this extravaganza, as a favor to my friend, dfn, i will not attend even if i was invited.
| |
Goodie123 (7548) | 3 years ago | Oh please Xboxgirl you must attend. We will all be glad to meet you.
| |
dfn12968 (5538) | 3 years ago | Okay, the unspoken problem has just been spoken.
x, i knew you would want the bear to be your best man, but i want him to give the bride away. What shall we do?
xgirl, i was hoping you'd be one of my bridesmaids. i've already asked curlyred, but i can't remember if she's accepted. she's been so busy making that transporter, that i haven't seen her in a while. i'd love to have you both, though.:)
| |
Goodie123 (7548) | 3 years ago | Oh yes good choice. Trans to give you away. Xboxgirl and curlyred as flower girls, Beautiful.
| |
xboxgirl (251) | 3 years ago | no, dfn, i would not want u to be overshadowed on ur wedding day, and so i will not attend, no matter how much u may want me 2 be there.
| |
Goodie123 (7548) | 3 years ago | Actually I feel Cheesehater would make an excellent best man, and master of ceromomies.
| |
dfn12968 (5538) | 3 years ago | xboxgirl, it's okay. if i were to want anyone to overshadow me, it would be you.;)
goodie, cheesehater would be a great MC, but i think he had an aversion to going to the moon, didn't he?
| |
Goodie123 (7548) | 3 years ago | Ph please Xboxgirl, Please go for D. 2 beautiful people can attend the one wedding.
| |
Goodie123 (7548) | 3 years ago | Oh D, the wedding is in the UK, the honeymoon is on the moon. Gee lucky I am your sexytary
| |
Goodie123 (7548) | 3 years ago | Xboxgirl Please show us a glimpse of your creation you are wearing on the day. No one wants to over shadow you, so we must make sure our creations are not as beautiful as yours.
| |
dfn12968 (5538) | 3 years ago | hmmmm.....mine at least has to be equally as beautiful as xgirl's.
| |
Goodie123 (7548) | 3 years ago | Yes indeed it does, but we will not let xboxgirl know that. It will be our secret.
| |
dfn12968 (5538) | 3 years ago | okay.;)
are you sure i'm not getting married on the moon?
| |
Goodie123 (7548) | 3 years ago | Remember we had to change it because Cheesehater was not to sure of the moon. He does not like cheese remember. And the groom is wearing his kilt. Now we all know what is worn under kilts do we not. Wink Wink nudge nudge. So the honeymmom is on the moon.
| |
xboxgirl (251) | 3 years ago | it is not the beauty of the garment that will overshadow dfn if i were to attend. i could wear a sack and still overshadow her. pleze don't hate me becuz im beautiful. i am trying so hard to be sensitive ms. goodie.
| |
Goodie123 (7548) | 3 years ago | Oh Xboxgirl sweety I do not hate you, I have actually grown to feel very fond of you. We will just make sure DFN, wears a paper bag over her head. Will you show us just a little peek of your creation. We need to have the background correct for when we take the photos of you.
| |
dfn12968 (5538) | 3 years ago | She does grown on you, doesn't she, goodie?
I am not wearing a paper bag on my head! xboxgirl! you're beautiful, we know it, everyone knows it. you will always overshadow me in everything you do and everything you are. I have accepted this and still want you to be my friend and still want you in my wedding! Now, stop being stubborn and say yes, because tomorrow I will have my hands full arguing with xboy about whether Transdisc is the best man or father of the bride!
Sheesh, people, the bride is not supposed to have such stress while planning her wedding!
| |
Goodie123 (7548) | 3 years ago | D:) Please calm down. We do not want a worn out bride. Just go along with me, of course you are not wearing a paper bag, we have to keep Xboxgirl happy so she will attend. It is lucky you have me to do your thinking for you. LMAO.
| |
dfn12968 (5538) | 3 years ago | It is lucky. I'm really tired tonight, Goodie, so forgive my outburst. I didn't go to bed until after 3am, so I'm dragging right now. I am thinking about going to bed now. If I do, I imagine I'll be up around 4am. LOL
| |
Goodie123 (7548) | 3 years ago | Thats okay you go and have a little sleep. I might read my book for awhile.
| |
dfn12968 (5538) | 3 years ago | I think we have been deserted anyway, goodie. The xbox twins are gone and I haven't seen the bear in a good hour at least, so I think I will try to snooze. If I come back in an hour, it's because me trying to go to bed this early is a big fat joke. LOL! I will try, though.:)
Enjoy your book, Goodie...I'll see ya later!
| |
Goodie123 (7548) | 3 years ago | Night D, try and get a good sleep.

dfn12968 (5538) | 3 years ago | Yay, Goodie, your star is yellow!!!! That's my favorite color!:) Now I have xboxgirl's new avatar and your yellow star to brighten my day!
| |
Goodie123 (7548) | 3 years ago | Oh Yah, I wonder when that happened. Is it 6.00 am for you.
| |
dfn12968 (5538) | 3 years ago | It is 6:04. I have been up for about an hour. I figured if I went to bed early I'd be up early. I am contemplating going back to bed for a bit, though. It was much cozier there.
| |
Goodie123 (7548) | 3 years ago | So did you have a good night sleep

dfn12968 (5538) | 3 years ago | I did.:) I was asleep within seconds of my head hitting the pillow. I was exhausted.

4. Rozie37 (7158) | 3 years ago | I will let you in on a very well known secret. It is not a good idea to question God. The Bible says, let God be true and every man a liar. We all stand guilty before a holy and righteous God. When I was younger we you to sing a song in church that basically went like this, "God said it, I believe it, and that settles it for me." In other words, whether it makes sense to you are not, because God said it, it is so. If God says that 39+39=1, guess what that means? 39+39=1. God is the beginning and end of all things and our little opinions don't count for much anyway. It's just like a robot questioning his creator. You can question all you want to, but you don't have the power to change a thing, so why bother?
| |
| |

xboxboy (1813) | 3 years ago | i ain't going to question god! i m not that brave or stoopid!

5. dfn12968 (5538) | 3 years ago | What happened to no discussions for a month, xboy? Your willpower is impressive.;)
You know, this actually was a typo by God. I heard it on the news. He got his keyboard stuck in a cloud, and when he finally got it out, the B and the F had somehow reversed. I was a little skeptical at first myself when I heard it, but the two letters are awfully close together on the keyboard, so I think it's probably a true story. Don't you??
| |
| |
xboxboy (1813) | 3 years ago | i figured it had to be something like that. i hope he took it back to the store and stood in line for a refund.
| |
Transdisc (18489) | 3 years ago | Very impressive, D! I am impressed. Really.
| |
dfn12968 (5538) | 3 years ago | Why, thank you bare bear!:)
x, it's not exactly the store's fault that God got his keyboard stuck in a cloud. That is clearly operator error. We might want to ask xboxgirl what really happened. She seems to have an inside track with the big man's son.
| |
xboxboy (1813) | 3 years ago | im pretty sure tr....xboxgirl will know the answer right enough!

I think that you bring up an excellent question about the name butterfly. I have often wondered the same thing. I know that these creatures are lovely to look at, but do people ever think about where they land? Don't they eat through their feet, and they land on poo a lot. They are poo eaters.
I wonder if they should be called shitkickingflyers instead?

7. Adoniah (2675) | 3 years ago | Remember something, you cannot blame G'd for the names of the critters because He left that up to man. It is man's fault that it is called a butterfly not G'd's. Reread Genesis 2:19 "whatever the man called each creature, that would be its name."

10. ElicBxn (15535) | 3 years ago | Actually, according to a linguist I listened to this year (and I had heard it before) it did used to be flutterby. There is a tongue slip that is called a "Spoonerism" named for a man named Spooner, that used to do this all the time. For example, if he were telling Cinderella, he'd say "sisty uglers" instead of "ugly sisters."
Basically, butterfly is born from this effect. I once tried to call hay bales as I drove by but I kept calling them "hale bays" go figure.
