 do you hate hurting the most?
I just ripped the side of my baby toe on the baseboard of a short wall and i am trying to decide if this is worse then the time I ran over my big toe with a door.
What do you think? Which toe is worse?

1.  cyberfluf (1345) | 7 months ago |  Hard question, I don't have a lot of experience in hurting my toes and if I do hurt them it's usually because my baby toe is jammed somewhere in my shoes:S
The worst pain I experienced was a strand of wood from a braided chair (hope you know what I mean) which was jammed straight up my big toe (front side in) and went in for a couple of cm. Getting it out hurt like hell and I was like 10 years old.
My dad pulled it out and my mom had to hold me down.
I guess this would be equally painfull in other toes, but luckily I don't have any comparisation material on that one! Phew..

| cyberfluf (1345) | 7 months ago | I get goosebumps just thinking about how that must have felt! This discussion made me realise how sensitive ones toes are, and how well we must choose our footwear to protect them.
I once got a large shard of glass in one of my platform boots when I was going out, if I had been wearing flats it would surely have penetrated my foot.

 caroliewrites (133) | 7 months ago |  owwwwwwwwwwwwwwwie... Yikes. All this reminds me of a time, I think I was about ten and told NOT to play with Mom's sewing machine. Welllllllll...... I ran the needle through my index finger and my mom came running ( I was howling.lol) and had to first get the needle out of the machine and then pull it out of my finger...OUCHIE!!

I have had toe catastrophies before but I can't think of any specific off hand now.
The baby toe seems to be more fragile, so I would think it would hurt more, but if I slammed a door on my big toe, I might think differently.

The time i ran over my big toe was bad.. it looked like I had planed it.. but this is pretty rotten too.

| dfn12968 (5595) | 7 months ago | This is only going to be my second winter here, and so far it's only been cold enough maybe three or four times, but it has not snowed. They say we might get a flurry or two on thursday, but I doubt it will really happen.
It did snow a few times last winter.
Speaking of snow, my nieces (ages 3 and 6) who live in Florida, saw snow this weekend for the first time at my uncle's wedding in Michigan. My mom said they were thrilled to death. I was sorry to have missed seeing them enjoy it. | |

I chopped the side off my big toe.
I was pulling a bed apart. It was the old type that had the stretchy coiled springs.
I could not reach one of the nuts so I gave the base a little yank.
Well low and behold the entire thing sprang apart.
I am very lucky it sprang down and chopped my toe, instead of hitting me in the face.

5.  cheesehater (1231) | 7 months ago |  I think the toe that would be the worst to hurt, rip, tear or otherwise damage would be my cameltoe.
I have hurt other toes by getting them caught in the spokes of a friends bicycle while I was riding on the handlebars. I needed stitches in my head, foot and arm. I think it was thirty-five total if I remember correctly. I also broke two toes and lost one toenail. But Curly... that toe accident would be considered minor compared to the situation described in my first sentance.

I think the little toe hurts the most though. Although I had an experience with the second toe that I wouldn't want to go through again.
I was wearing a silver salamander toe ring that my sister had got me for good luck. I turned from the sink in a mad dash for the telephone and slammed my toe into a huge gothic mirror I had leaning up against the wall waiting to be hung.
It broke the toe, which immediately starting swelling to elephantine proportion... and the ring wasn't swelling with it. I finally managed to cut it with a pair of cuticle scissors, and then crawled to the door and sprawled there on my belly sucking down the fresh air to keep from fainting.
Next time my sister gives me anything for good luck I'm gonna tell her to keep it!

I worst time is when my grandpa and I were splitting wood and a huge uncut log fell and broke all 5 of my toes. they all turned purple, and i had to have a cast on my leg.

| 8. Stiletto (3095) | 7 months ago |  I've only ever really hurt one toe and that was my big toe on my right foot. I was wearing wedge sandals which were pretty high I admit - fell off my shoe and split the top of my big toe open and lifted the nail up. Blood everywhere and what's worse is it was the middle of the day in a busy high street so I had to walk home leaving a trail of blood behind me. Even worse my shoe was ruined because the blood stained the leather strap and I couldn't get the marks out AND they were new!
The nail was wiggling about but it didn't fall off straight away, it was still attached at one corner and I was too grossed out by it to pull it right off (are you feeling sick yet??) so I just bandaged it up for a couple of days. Then after I took the bandage off it was maybe another few days before the nail fell right off. Toes look crazy without nails on them. Took ages to grow back - it was at least 8 or 9 months before my toe looked normal again.
