Blessing or Curse?  

Thank god it's me who's noticed this and not my wife!!!!

I don't have a problem with the wires looking a mess, it's pretty normal for me. Okay, Okay... I admit, I hate it and I am the type of person who spends hours playing around with them just to get them tidy. It's less now, when I used my desktop, my keyboard was positioned in a certain way and so was my speakers and I honestly free better off with a laptop.

We dont use extention cords, we have a LOT of outlets all around the apartment, but we do use power bars, those bars that you can plug a lot of stuff into. I'd advise against using any of them that you dog has chewed through the outer shell part of the cord. lol. And i dont think tieing a knot in it would help.

Do you have to have your cords all straight ? the cords for the pc and the modems and router, no matter how many times you straighten them at my house, they always turn into a big pile of messy knots. So i no longer bother with trying to fix them.

the extension cords are no exception to the rule
They need to be untangled, unknotted and straight along the baseboard when plugged in
When not in use they need to be rolled up neatly, wrapped around itself and plugged into itself so that it doesnt come undone and look messy and get tangled

When there is a loose knot in an extension cord or any cord for that matter, it doesn't bother. My mother and father tell me that you are not supposed to have knots in cords...but why not? I do try to coil up my expension cords if they are the long outside ones, but if they are the short ones I don't bother. Nadine

I'm somewhat obsessive so yes, I would have to straighten it out and I have to put it away a certain way. I think it's more of a curse then a blessing.

That is a HUGE pet peeve of mine. I can't stand tangled cords, extension, behind my computer, behind the tv. I'll unplug everything straighten them out and then use twist ties to keep them that way.

In putting them away, amost decoratively, making a perfect circle and then tie off the ends....here we go with those control issues again...lol.

I haven't had to use an extension cord in a long time. But I had a long cord on a heating pad last year. It was pretty new when I got it wrapped around my computer chair. And now it won't work. Waaa.

So from now on I vow to be more alert to how I take care of my electrical cords.

If it is an long extension used for power tools we're talking about, certainly, it doesn't feel right. Maybe the insulation is cracked and hope not a short circuit !!!
Computer and TV cables end up all messy , so when I clean the house and not only dust-off the floor, I unplug all and put some order.

This is a bane of my life as I lose patience and I can't hack doing the lawns, because everytime I get the lawnmower out of the shed it's riddled with knots and it takes me ages to undo them! Christmas lights are another pain in the rear end! I end up with more knots than when I start with! I have a short fuse and start to get angry with them! And yes if there is an extension cord out, guess who trips over it LOL!
