has anyone here at Mylot watched The Straight Story?  

My parents saw it and they loved it. They recommended it to others and all of them enjoyed it as well. I remember how sad it was that Richard Farnsworth (who I will always remember most as Matthew on 'Anne of Green Gables') killed himself not long after he was nominated for an Oscar in that role. I guess his cancer was too much for him to take.

well I'm starting to go through a lot of your discussions that I missed, so you will see a rash of responses from me,

bt this sounds like a truly good movie, I think the role that he played sounds so very much like the person he was, I alive read posts that say he died due to suicide, and that is such a tragedy,

But I think any person that leaves his mark in the entertainment world like this person did, no matter the bad, their legacy will live on.

I will hve to rent this, but I will have to watch it before I allow my 13 year old to watch it....she doesn't deal well with movies where people die, or get really sick.

We watched the movie Annapolis, and while it was really good movie, there was a scene where someone had jumped out a window, in a suicide attempt, and she coldn't handle that, so I have to keep in mind what she can and can not handle.
