Did you have a waterbed when they were popular? How did you like it?  |

|  I don't think I ever paid as much for a piece of furniture as I did for my water bed many years ago. It was one of the best and when you were on it you didn't even know it was a water bed except for the fact that it was the sleep I had ever had. Not only was it comfortable but it was such a nice looking bed and I was so proud of it! lol.....the things we do right? Back then I was living with a guy and sex was awesome on that waterbed and something I'll probably never forget. Before this the old fashioned spring type mattresses were still out so this was a big deal to me.
Have you ever had a waterbed or tried sleeping on one? What were your experiences with it?

| |  I had a water bed.. a waveless kind. It was nice...it was heated in the winter and I left the heat off in the summer unless it made me feel too cold and then I put it on low. I would get back aches sometimes though.. I worked at night and I slept in the day...and I would just die when I came home. I would sleep so long in one place that my spine would get out of alignment and my back would hurt really bad. I ended up giving it away.

| |  I had one when I was living with this guy before I had children. It was a big one. he really liked it and felt it helped with his tired sore muscles though for me I found I got more aches because of it. I would rather a standard mattress then a water bed for sure.

| |  I've had a waterbed for 30 years and can't stand to sleep on anything else - I now have a softside with the tubes inside which is terrific. It takes regular old sheets, doesn't have the waves like the old kind did, and is perfect for me.

Mine has 6 drawers under it which are great for keeping extra blankets, my pajamas, and such but the mattress itself is the greatest - the comfortable sleep of a waterbed without the hard sides, special sheets, and waves. | | | |

OH, the wonderful waterbed!! I had a waterbed for about twenty years. Then I couldn't find any more mattresses for them so I changed to a regular bed. Bummer, it took quite a while to get used to that again.
I loved my waterbed so much, even the kids had their own. We had four in the house at a time. Guests didn't mind having a night of adventure at our house! LOL
The waterbed was warm and soothing. I really slept well. Since I have changed to a regular bed, I have trouble sleeping, and wake up with aches and pains all over.
Thanks for bringing back some memories for me.

| |  I remember those water beds, ctry, and they were sooo popular for a time! I never owned one because at the time I was living in an apartment that prohibited them(something to do with the weight). My cousin, however, did own one, and when I would go and sleep over at her house she would always let me sleep on the water bed. You are absolutely right about getting a good nights sleep on them. One of my daughters had one until about a year ago, and she said she hated to get rid of it.

| |  No, I never had a waterbed, though I did want one when I was younger. One of my friends had an older brother that had one. However his was the type that actually swished around and when my friend and I sat on it, it felt like we were on a little ride! And it was very uncomfortable. I never wanted one, after that! LOL

| |  Yes, I sure did have a waterbed, and I do miss it. I have a bad back and neck, and that was the best bed I ever had for sleeping. Nice and warm in the winter especially, and it felt sooooo good on my bones.
What a pain it was if you moved residences though, ugh, plus it really took up most of the bedroom, haha. I had a high one with drawers underneath it. Being short, I use to get a running start just for fun to get on it, hahaha. I did enjoy it very much though, and my back misses it.

| |  My parents always had one, and I had one briefly in the late 80's. I never cared for them much though; I always ended up between the mattress and the frame and mine had a bum heater that kept going out so you would wake up FREEZING. And I lived in Pheonix!
I also hated when the sheets would slide off; the mattress felt terrible against my skin.
I now have a memory foam and it is the best thing going.
