Acupressure, tips… |
| |
| Hi friends, many of you are aware of the unique science of treatment using ‘acupressure’, in which certain specific points on our body are pressed to get instant relief from pain and cure from so many diseases including chronic disease. This is a vast science and there are tons of points on our body. Each point is associated with some specific organ on your body. Usually the points on the palms, wrists and foot are pressed. From my experience I would like to share the following. Clap your hands for 5-10 minutes at a stretch daily in the morning (or any time that suits you) with maximum force. Your palms may look red and you may get some pain. This is a unique way of pressing all points on your palms. This will keep you healthy and may give relief from headache, stress, depression etc. We the Hindus here do this clapping during our worship. This is certainly good. Those friends, particularly women, who have lost their hair or have less hair, can try this. Rub the nails of fingers of both hands mutually for 5-10 minutes, whenever you find time. See the result. My senior friends, who have gone bald can also try this. I had gone almost bald but got back the sprout, see me in my avtar. Lastly, for parents, grandparents whose kids/grandkids wet their bed. Press the tip of the little fingers of both hands 10-20 times at a stretch thrice daily. Belive me, your bed will remain dry. So friends, did you find this useful? Any tip of yours? Please share and comment. DR.B.SARAF Ph.D. | | depression | | | | |

| | Acupressure remedies are amazing. Once when speaking on the phone with a customer from work, the woman seemed like her mind was wandering a bit and I asked if she was OK. She said she had a headache. Coincidentally, I had just been reading an article on how to stop the pain of a headache by pressing on a point where the index finger and thumb meet and holding it for a short time. I asked the woman to try it right there on the phone and I explained where and how to press and for how long. I tried to speak soothingly to her and assured her this would help, although, in truth I had never experienced it myself. I told her there was no hurry, we could fix her headache first and then do our business. Suddenly she shouted, "It's Gone! My headache is gone!" Wow! I hardly ever get a headache, but could not wait to try this on myself. It was, I think 5 years or more later when in the middle of one night I awoke with a headache, and I sat bolt upright and though, "Oh, good! I can try that acupressure thing." I did and my headache went right away. After that I did buy several more books on acupressure and do read about this interesting subject from time to time just to remain current. | | | | | | |

| | Ann, I read your reply with much enthusiasm. It is astonishing to me that the woman saw such quick relief! certainly worth a try. I have two children that suffer chronic headaches, I will have to share this information with them! | | | |

| | Modestah, I surely do hope it helps your children. There is little worse than to have to watch children suffer. I found a picture of the Li14 point on this page: http://www.soundtells.com/Acupressure/index.html They don't say much about how to do it there, but if you look at the picture, they should relax the hand and you press hard holding that part of the hand between the index finger and thumb and if it hurts a bit when you press that is good. It should not hurt a lot, though. You have them relax the hand as much as possible and bear down for about 30 seconds and then very slowly release the pressure over another 30 seconds time and then go to the other hand. Sometimes it takes 2 or 3 times on each hand to have it help. This is one way. If when you press down at first there is no soreness at the point Li14, then this is not the kind of headache this method will help, but there are other points. | | | |

| | I appreciate your taking the time to give me the instruction, as well as the website. the daughter's headache usually is only relieved by throwing up, I guess that releases seratonin or something that aides in relief... this will be much more pleasant than throwing up - and quicker too as she will suffer for hours before it makes her vomit. | | | |

| | Modestah..my hubby used to get headaches real bad and, just like with your kids, refused to go away till he threw up alot. It was his sinuses draining into his stomach that was causing it. Instead of draining out the nose like it should, all that crap ended up in his stomach and the pressure from throwing it all up relieved his headache every time. | | | |

| | I have used a form of acupressure for many years and found it very effective (it was called Zone Therapy). I now have an electro acupuncture machine that is run by batteries - it is really effective for headaches and comes with an instruction book to help find specific points for specific conditions. The machine has been invented by an acupuncturist in Australia, but I think it is available in most countries as I purchased mine in the UK - but that was off-line about 15 years ago.. Here is the Australian link that some may find useful.. http://www.acuhealth.com.au/ | | | | | | |

| | I find this information amazing. I will certainly pass it along to two of our daughter's who have migraines. How does rubbing the fingernails help with hair growth? My hair is begginning to thin so this is something I would be interested in doing on a regular basis. Thank you for the very informative discussion. I did find it very useful. | | | | | | |

| | hello bhubaneshwar thanks for the tips for staying healthy. and also for the hair loss treatments. i have never heard of acupressure before and i have done some research on the subject and i hope that you enjoy it. Acupoints used in treatment may or may not be in the same area of the body as the targeted symptom. The TCM theory for the selection of such points and their effectiveness is that they work by stimulating the meridian system to bring about relief by rebalancing yin, yang and qi (also spelled "chi"). This theory is based on the paradigm of TCM, not that of science. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acupressure have a wonderful rest of the evening. | | | | | | |

| | Hi papa. I have always been interested with acupressure especially when I was in College but didn't get a chance to really get serious about it due to time constraint. I will do everything you said here. I have thin hair papa and lots of gray/white hair. So I think this will be very helpful to me. | | | | | | |

| | hmmmmm....I'm going to have my daughter do the bedwetting tip 3x a day and see if she stops wetting w/o meds. Unfornately, she inherited my bedwetting and now suffers from it. That was one thing I really wish she didn't inherit from me as it's caused me nothing but problems/grief when I was a kid. Still does in a way. | | | | | | |
