My eight month old son still gets pissed every time we try to put a shirt on him. Is that normal? Is there some way to get him to chill out and use his sleeves?

1. giftsandbagscom (12312) | 2 years ago | I had to let my daughter roam without a shirt. That was only when we were home. I found she was bale to wear clothes that were bigger in size. She still loves a shirt that is a size bigger. Also it was better to get her dressed right before leaving the house. For the most part she loves onesies and sweats.

3. lilybug (15467) | 2 years ago | My daughter turned 1 year old 2 days ago and she still hates getting shirts on. Actually, she hates wearing any clothes at all. If it were left up to her she would be naked 24 hours a day.

4. lightningd (738) | 2 years ago | Yes it's normal! Both of my boys hated clothes when they were babies. It was all I could do to keep a diaper on them. I think it has something to do with their bodies still learning to regulate their temperature outside the womb. If you are just at home and not going anywhere, don't fret about it a whole lot. Let him be comfortable. Believe me, if he gets cold, he'll let you know. If you have to go somewhere, even though he is still little, just talk him through it, explain he has to be dressed to go "bye bye" and he'll accept it sooner or later. But if it's just around the house, don't worry about it.

| MachSchell (22) | 2 years ago | Rock on. Thanks, I'm glad to know I'm not doing anything wrong; I was worried that I was hurting him or something trying to force on his shirt. First time parent, it's all new and I trip out about everything.

lightningd (738) | 2 years ago | I was lucky when I had mine, my grandma had 4 kids, she was the oldest of 13, some of whom are younger than my mom, her oldest..so she had TONS of experience in the baby raising department. I used to get irritated with mine... Grandma said, "Leave that baby alone. His body knows if it's cold or hot. He gets cold, you'll know." Every stage with a child is a learning experience... just wait til the teen years. My latest learning experience is letting my oldest go. He's in college now and all grown up.... except when he needs money!!! LOL

| MachSchell (22) | 2 years ago | That's great; congrats on your kids. My wife's family is huge, so we're lucky there, but I get a lot of advice I don't ask for and a lot of useless advice when I do ask:)
