I think that movies do have a great impact on people, especially on youngsters. It seems that youngsters learn the negative easier than the positive as they are still on the way to forming their own philosophy world. It would be nice if they are guided with the help of their parents or seniors.

Talkong about movies, I remember when I was younger, the late night movies are mostly sponsored by cigarette companies such as Perilis and Mild seven. They always put their ads before, in the middle and at the end of the movies. And they depict smokers as people who are well off, mature, cool or even attractive. If there are ten breaks in between the movies, then the advertisement gets palyed twenty times. Compare the smoking advertisement to the movie, there is no doubt that the advertisement has a larger impact on us.

I bet if you show a movie sponsored by cigarette companies to a kid, no matter how much dangerous stunts are potrayed in the movie, the kid will have a very high probability of imitating smoking rather than the stunts. And this is one of the reasons why many youths smoke.
