How does Amazon compare to Ebay  |

 Since Ebay is raising its final value fees, I am considering alternatives. Has anyone used amazon to sell anything? If so how is it?

| Racefans2 (30) | 2 years ago | There are 2 ways to sell on Amazon. You can either pay $39.00 a month no matter how many books you sell or you pay 1.00 for each book your sell. So if you are selling more then 40 books a month then it would be better to pay the monthly fee and not the by book fee. | |

| 2. ellie333 (6793) | 2 years ago |  Hi I recently listed many books on Amazon which was easy because I just had to enter the isbn numbers and they done the rest then say whther book was in bad, fair, good, excellent type condition and set a price. They then give you the total amount og money they will pay you for the sale. However they do a sent postage amount £2.75 so if a heavy book costing maybe £4.00 to post you will lose money so be aware of this. I only sold one book but was simple. I use other auction sites with have no listing fees but again slow but items do sell, but have found most things do sell when placed on ebay far quicker. Hope this helps. | Racefans2 (30) | 2 years ago | Hi I am not sure how AZ England works but here you can either sell and get charged by the book $1.00 or pay $39.00 a month to be a pro merchant. If you pay the $39.00 then you do not have to pay the $1.00 per book fee. There are other benefits to being a pro merchant. So if you sell less then 40 books a month it would be better to pay the per book fee. | |

If you are a market place seller and subscribe to the monthly market place subscripton you will pay $39.99 a month, but you can sell as many items as you want for that amount, then they will take a 15% commission. If you don't subscribe it will cost you I believe .99 per book (I have subscribed to the market place for many years, but the price was .99 last time I checked) plus the 15% commission. So if you think you can sell more than 40 books per month it is a good deal to pay for the subscription rate. They also re-imburse you $2.67 for shipping.

5. Mista_P (23)  | 2 years ago | I used amazon,i think it's better than ebay because I pay until after the item is sold. Unlike on ebay you have to pay a fee even if the item is not sold. Ebay's max is a 7-day listing. Amazon has 60-day listing. I prefer AMAZON. | |
