US senator wants to pull federal funds from city who booted Marines

I think this is poetic justice, so to speak

Yesterday I started a discussion on how the City Council of Berkley, CA had voted that the Marines weren't to be in the City....and that htey gave a protest permit to Code Pink,

Now I have to say the Congressman for that state has said and I quote

>DeMint was angered after learning that the Berkeley City Council voted this week to tell the U.S. Marine Corps to remove its recruiting station from the city's downtown.

"This is a slap in the face to all brave service men and women and their families," DeMint said in a prepared statement. "The First Amendment gives the City of Berkeley the right to be idiotic, but from now on they should do it with their own money."<

I don't care who thinks what I have to say right now taht I totally agree iwth this man,

He will draft legislation to remove any money earmarked for the city, and I hope it goes through.

the recruiting station has made no plans to appeal or to move.
