3. starr4all (2181) | 2 years ago | I don't think kids should watch it unsupervised. (Young ones not teenagers.) If they have questions you should be able to answer them. It's a good example of telling them that it isn't real.

4. Sparky5115 (229) | 2 years ago | It is NOT a childrens cartoon! It airs around 10.30pm here in Australia once a week on free to air television, which I think is appropriate.
The problem is parents that do not monitor or care about what their children are watching these days.
I heard an 8 year old on the radio this afternoon saying he was just about to watch a horror movie with his family. I think this is irresponsibility on the parents behalf.
I wouldn't really call The Simpsons a childrens cartoon either, but this airs every single night during dinner time (6pm).
No wonder society is such a mess.....

5. missybal (3741) | 2 years ago | Considering the other programming they have had I wouldn't say it is all that violent. I think a lot of it is mild. But I don't have children so I really can't say how a child would react to it. However I grew up on Simpsons and Homer choking Bart all the time and I turned out okay...I think?

| 6. knight09 (13) | 2 years ago | It is a cartoon, so it should be okay. If the kid is too young to see that it isn't real then they shouldn't be around it but probably 10 and up should be a good enough age. If it is a problem after that then it is probably the parents' fault, which wouldn't surprise me since parenting in this country, or atleast where I am from, has gone down the tube.

7. CaitBaby (216) | 2 years ago | I agree that Family Guy can be somewhat violet, but you have to admit that it's hilarious! If I had young children, I definitely wouldn't let them watch it. I'd say age 11 and up. It's not as though Family Guy is the worst thing they could watch.

8. MISTRESSMARY420 (476) | 2 years ago | I usually do not talk on topics of censorship or what kids should watch and so forth. For one I believe it is on the parents to guide the child along also believe in a country we are suppose to be free to form opinions and think what we want we have so many people trying to control what is watched ect. When we were kids we had items on that could be construed as violent which I do not see them as so but I think of the Looney Tunes. Elmer trying to kill Bugs and Daffy or the Roadrunner and Wild E Coyote. These cartoons could be seen as violent yet I dont see any of our generation blaming our actions on Elmer Fudd. People look for something other than the truth to blame. No one takes responsibility for their actions or lack of. My kids watch family Guy with me but they watch it nonetheless this is not gonna corrupt them. Trust me watching this stuff on T.V. does not give them ideas there are other factors that come into play should someone take the wrong road. The other fact is this is intended more for an adult theme usually put on times geared for adults. Even if it is on other times Parents need to take a stand if this is something you do not want turn it off block the channel watch what your kids are doing or trust me the least worry you should have is what they are watching. If they are not being supervised enough on what they watch trust me they are doing much more out of your vision and those are more likely the factor to lead someone into a deviant lifestyle not cartoons. Grow up but still be able to laugh at life that is what Family Guy is built around. At least that is what I think.
