My discussion on films/movies you remember  |

 A couple of weeks ago I wrote a discussion about favourite films/ movies from childhood. There were lots of replies and many of them were about The Sound of Music and I wanted to reply to them in particular, some told of their favourite part of the movie so I wanted to put my favourite part in too but couldn't remember the exact wording. My daughter, who loves The Sound of Music watched it AGAIN today and she wrote down the quote for me. Julie Andrews really excelled in movies like this, I also love Mary Poppins and my two favourite scenes in that movie were; The Bird Lady and the horse race where Bert rescues the fox when it is being pursued by the hounds. Of course she was also great in her on-stage work too as she is such a talented lady and it wasn't difficult to see that she enjoyed what she was doing, that's half the battle.

| 3. ElicBxn (7065) | 6 months ago |  We have a theater in town, The Alamo Drafthouse http://www.originalalamo.com/ that is pretty much a fun place to be at times.
The roomie & I have enjoyed many a movie and a meal at the Drafthouse. I have never gone to any of their special events, but sometimes they have even more fun. For example, they have had a "The Sound of Music" sing-a-long event, where you go & sing with the movie.
Of course they've had a few Rocky Horror events. I think they did another movie sing-a-long, they do also do some Mystery Science Theater 3000 type events. http://en.wikipedia.org/w...

My husband usually tells me, aren't you tired of that movie. Well, I guess not! hehe.. I remember that line of Maria saying it to Captain Von Trapp. I really enjoy the songs and the Maria having such a beautiful spirit and infecting the whole family with her joy and love.
