Hi You All,
When you were children, what were your favorite TV shows? Cartoon? If no cartoons around then, or in addition, what shows did you love to watch on TV? I do not watch TV now, but used to as a child. Here are some of mine in order or estimated time period (early to later):

- Rainbow Brite
- My Little Ponies
- Care Bears
- He Man/ She-Ra
- The Smurfs

Not Favorites, but watched a lot back then:
- Looney Tunes (Bugs Bunny, Tweety Bird, etc.)
- Popeye the Sailor Man

I'm probably forgetting more. But it seems that Care Bears and My Little Ponies have somewhat come back (they don't look the same though, I saw in an ad once, ha ha).

Happy cartoons all! Oh, and do any of you adults watch cartoons now?

There were so many of them that I enjoyed watching. A short list of when I was younger would have to consist of shows like Transformers, Voltron, G.I. Joe, Care Bears, Smurfs, and the classic Looney Tunes ones. There are probably a ton more that I am forgetting, but I watched so many cartoons back then... oh yeah! Thundercats, too.

Oh wow, thanks for the quick response!

I remember Transformers and G.I. Joe too now! They were a bit too violent to me as a child, though. Oh Thundercats! Wow, I woudn't haven't remembered that without your listing.:o)

It's funny and nostalgic how I can still sing the theme songs (even for the Transformers and G.I. Joe!). I dare you to sing them out loud right now! (Smurfs too were easy to remember).

Well I don't watch cartoons now ... but these were some of my favorites growing up in the 50s ... Quik Draw McGraw, Augie Doggie and Doggy Daddy, Tom & Jerry, Bugs Bunny, Tweety and Sylvester, Felix the Cat, Bullwinkle, Porky Pig, The Roadrunner and Wiley Coyote, Popeye, Mighty Mouse, Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and there are a lot I am sure, but can't remember them right now. I used to love shows like the Lone Ranger, Rin Tin Tin, Lassie, The Thin Man, Bonanza, Perry Mason, I Love Lucy, the Howdy Doody Show, The Mickey Mouse Club, etc. I still watch westerns though ... love them! rasp

Thanks MN (marilynut!),
Good to hear your shows and cartoons. Ahh yes, of course I watched all those Looney Toons. Every one of them you mentioned. "Here I come to save the daaaay! Mighty Mouse is on his waaaay!" Pardon my singing, but just had to! Donald Duck had the funniest voice too. I could never immitate it. Lassie is also a good ole memory. Those good ole days, huh?:o) Thx

I used to love to watch cartoons on Saturday morning. Popeye,Bugs Bunny and the Jetsons were my favorites. When my kids were younger, I'd watch with them too. Back then it was the Smurfs, and other ones I can't remember.

I recently bought a DVD called cartoon classics that has a lot of old cartoons on it, like Betty Boop, Woody Woodpecker, and a cartoon version of The Three Stooges. I tried watching a little of it, but I really couldn't get into it. Maybe if I was in the right mood, I'd enjoy it.

Hey cutie dog Karen! (Every time I see that adorable picture, I'm just so "Awwwwww!").

Anyway, yes, I remember those. Guess what this is?
"H-h-h-hhh-hh, H-h-h-hhh-hh, h-h-h-h-h-h!" Did you get it? Hee hee, it's W. the W. (so it won't give away when you read it, but from one of the cartoons you mentioned you watched).:o)

And oh darn, I can't write down my humming a tune for ya. I wanted to hum the Jetsons.;o)

I think that's Woody Woodpecker. For some reason, I keep thinking of the song from the Flintstones when I try to remember the Jetsons song.

Oh, whenever I don't respond, it's since I wasn't notified you answered. Sorry about that, hun!

But yes, yes, A+ score! You are correctomundo.;o) Flinstones, I can't sing onto here, the opening tune, but canin my room!

Hope you had a lovely weekend!
