Nintendo Wii - Childish games?  

Nintendo focus on playability and new ways to play. Childs know how to play better that any other adult. So, I think it's those "I am an adult, give me super graphics" people out there who sneer on the Wii because "please! Mario... again?".

The better proof that the Wii is not "just for kids" is the amount of adults that had never before played with a game system that is enjoying it: its "kidness" is one pro, not a drawback, because it makes it easy and intuitive to play and concentrates on the fun, not the "coolness".

I think it doesn't matter if it's for kids or not as long as you enjoy what your playing that's what matters most. I have played almost all the kids. I even play diner dash and cake mania on the net.. Super Mario has grown with me and I enjoy playing it a lot. I like RPG as well my kids like it too. :)

The Wii (and the DS) are not really targeting "children" or "adults", they are targeting everyone. You have kid games (Mario), "adult" games (Touch Generation titles) and traditional gamer (15-35 year old male) games (Heros, RE, most of the Virtual Console collection).

The reason people see it as "kids" is that it has none-traditional gamer games in a much greater number than the other two combined and Nintendo has historically been a kids-friendly company. Take the GameCube bright-blue, Duplo Lego brick design.

All the Wiinjuries that people or suffering from might have somethng to say about that. I think Nintendo deserves some credit for manufacturing a system that gets gamers off their butts and burning some calories. Fanboy comments about which system is for kids holds little value. Gaming is about enjoyment. Play the games that you like and buy the system that best allows you to play the games that you enjoy. It's good business to produce a gaming experience that has broad based appeal. Nintendo has a long history of successfully doing this.

It's not exclusive to Wii, but The Godfather: Blackhand Edition is far from kiddy. The violence, language and sexual themes don't make it seem kiddy to me. It's a good game too. I play games because they're fun. They don't have to have the greatest graphics in the world so long as they're enjoyable. Fun is the main factor.

Maybe the people saying this are the ones who can't find a Wii to buy! Or maybe they're employees from XBox or Playstation! How is bowling or tennis a childish game?

Me, my husband and our two children (7 & 11) all love the Wii. We have Super Mario Galaxy. I think this is a kids' game but it sure is hard!

There does seem to be a lot of childish games on the Wii, but what's wrong with that? It lets the whole family play. There are also good non-kid games on there too, like you mentioned.
