Now This is How to Run an Emergency!  | |  Most of you have heard the news stories about the Midwest being slammed with 12-20 inches of snow in one storm. Some of you didn't have to hear about it, like me, you lived it!
Insult was added to injury on I-90 in Southern Wisconsin when a Big Rig slid sideways, causing a 19 mile parking lot.
The people were stuck in their cars all night long. The governor called out the National Guard, who set out on snowmobiles and 4 wheelers, delivering food, blankets and coffee to the stranded motorists. Because the state already had plans and protocols in place... and used them, there were only a few people who needed medical attention.
Way to go Wisconsin!!!!

I suppose here we would of been left to freeze lol. We have had 2 nasty storms so far this year which being from Canada people seem to think we get often. When in truth we dont get that much cold weather where I live. We are so NOT used to these storms that when they hit the city freaks out and closes down

| | | 2. twoey68 (9631) | 2 years ago |  Good Going Wisconsin!! Michigan is like that. I spent some years growing up in Michigan and I can remember going to school on snowmobiles...business as usual. Here in Missouri...they get 2-3" and they close down. In Texas, they get a couple inches and they shut down the whole state practically.
