Are You A Pecker?  

If that is your prefernce then you are more than welcome to it. I touch type about 70 to 80 wpm and I must say that it is a darn sight faster than hunting and pecking. You don't have to pay for typing classes however, there are websites out there that will teach you for free. Just type, touch typing, or learn to type into a search engine. Or you can just go to www.learn2type.com where they will teach you to type free of charge and help you to raise your typing speed once you have the keying down. Try it, take the typing test as a baseline and find out how many wpm your hitting and then just take their tutorials and then take it again after you learn to type. Good luck!

I am not a specker, I can type with my eyes closed. I am married to a specker though! I offer to type for him but of course he doesn't want my help (ego thing, I'm sure).
If they way you do it works for you, then don't worry about what anyone else thinks.
YES I DO respond to discussions with misleading headers! LOL
I say "specker" because the mylot word filter would not allow me to use the word you used. Stupid speckerhead word filter!

Well, no worries, I'll just repost the same as before:
No, I am not a pe*ker. I took piano lessons when I was a kid, taught myself guitar and how to type and so my fingers are quite used to having a mind of their own.
I know a pe*ker now thought, since I've met you.lol
I love to respond to discussions with midleading headers because they often turn out to be the most fun.
I have on ocassion been called a pe*kerhead though if that helps. LOL

Just discovered the posting glitch. Seems that posting the word pe*ker is suddenly and no no so I had to rewrite. How'd you get this discussion past the morality police? LOL

I use two fingers to type, of two hand of course The left one is used for letters at the left side of keyboard only, the right one does the most of the work. I have to check keyboard too, i cannot type without looking at it. But i am very fast! indeed very fast, so i dont care much if someone can type without looking at keyboard. I know i can type much faster than most people, though i have to admit sometimes i make too many typos :(

My son is 9 and can type better than I can. I learned in high school and then took another typing class in college to keep me a full time student for my scholarship requirements.

My daughter is 5 and she's learning in KINDERGARTEN how to type. They have computer time and I swear that girl is going to be smarter than I am as far as computers are concerned before too much longer.

Oh, you got me here. I am like you, typing with only few fingers and looking at my keyboard. still I make so many mistakes, when my fingers are touching wrong key...I am typing with probably lowest possible speed...

Fooled again, another misleading heading. *sigh*

I know heaps of pe#kerheads, but alas I do not know anyone who knows how to use them.

I am a 2 fingered p#cker.I can p*ck quite well with only two p#ckers.

Whatever works for you and you feel comfortable with .. so be it. I usually look at the keys instead of the keyboard but there are times when I really need to get a lot of typing done and I have to use my "typing skills" and the good old "asdf jkl:' skills I learned in school.
