Which did you like better the book or the movie? |
|
I have read both the book & seen the movie & I honestly can't decide which I like better LOL. The movie stayed close to the original story from the book with some slight changes & some minor differences. Of course the movie has Clark Gable...LOL. So you see, I just can't decide LOL. Which did you perfer the book or the movie?

Movies are okay for me if I would just really love to entertain myself. If books or movies? I would go for books.

2. DelicateFlower (220) | 6 months ago | I liked the book better, there were a lot of details that even a really long movie can't include. They did a good job of staying true to the story though, way better than many others. But when it comes down to it, it's too hard to replicate certain aspects of it, like the actresses didn't lace up nearly to the extent that would have been realistic for formal dresses at the time. Understandably though, because it takes quite some time and practice to get flexible that way in your body so you aren't in pain. I did enjoy the movie though, just not the same way I enjoyed the book. Reading allows you to take time and think about things that peak your interest before you go on, in a movie it flies past, even if you need a moment to put the pieces together in your head.

3. Ldyjarhead (3084) | 6 months ago | I read the book as an adolescent many, many times, all 1064 pages of it. Its still my absolute favorite book of all time. I didn't see the movie until many years later and while I thought it was very good, I had read the book so many times that I think I had much of it already pictured in my mind and the movie didn't quite fit that picture. Both are excellent, and would recommend to anyone.

robsbrooklyngirl (3138) | 4 months ago | Wow I didn't know all that about Margaret Mitchell & you actually got to visit her home? I am suddenly very jealous LOL. Yes, I agree the film was awesome & the book was even better. It's true after the first couple of pages you just can't seem to put it down. It's like you get totally lost in it. Thanks for your comment.

6. xoShannonNCxo (129) | 4 months ago | The movie. Vivian Leigh and Clark Gable ARE Rhett and Scarlett in my opinion and while I like the book, the movie is better than what my imagination is! It's just perfect!

robsbrooklyngirl (3138) | 3 months ago | It's actually been a while since I read the book now, but the only difference that comes to mind at the moment is that she had another child that wasn't in the movie. I actually think they stuck really close to the book when making Gone with the Wind, because there were very few differences if I remember correctly.
