I am a vegetrian by birth, so there is no need to turn or plan to change myself. But of late I have noted that many non-vegetarians have turned to and many are planning to turn to vegetarian. To my knowledge I know 5 reasons for one to change to vegetrian. They are:
1) The Religious reason.
2) The Karmic reason.
3) The spirutual reason.
4) The Health reason.
5) The Ecological reason.

More than the above there may be some other reason which would have prompted you to change to vegetarian or planning to change to vegetarian.

Are you already changed to veetarian or planning to change to vegetarian - then what is your reason?

hello there season^_^

i am deeply jealous with you..
you are by birth a vegetarian.. and many in the entire world, will crave to be a vegan.
i myself plans to be one.
i would really be glad to be a pure vegetarian, but i think it may be hard..

i eat all seafood products its because my hometown is so rich with large and abundant seafoods production.. and i also eat all vegetables, its always part of my diet.. i dont eat pork... but i really wonder, how is it to be a vegan..completely vegan..

i would really appreciate if you will tell me where to start and what to do^_^

take care^_^

I am a vegetarian and at first it was for health reasons...as I'm sure you know it has been proven time and time again vegetarians are much healthier than others because they don't eat as much highly processed foods. However, after being a vegetarian for awhile I realized there were more good reasons for it. For example, it takes 7 pounds of plant based food to create one pound of meat...this being said it is clear that a vegetarian diet is the first step in ending world hunger (on a side note "Diet for a Small Planet" is an excellent book that explains this principle). And then ofcourse animal cruelty plays a part in my choice to be a vegetarian.

hey season0907!I am a non-vegetarian by birth.I was a vegan for a short period of time before I was hospitalized and the doctor said I wasn't built for a vegan diet.Tough life! But I would like to try it out again because I'm a lot older now and that I think I'm getting bored of eating chicken and beef. And milk, for that matter.

I am trying to be completely vegetarian by the end of 2009. the end of this year my plan is to stop eating meat aside from seafood. It's hard to avoid seafood that's why I take my time to achieve it.
I was raised eating mostly seafood and vegetables so eating other types of meat is not a necessity. I have been paying attention and nurture my spiritual life but I think it was the news of animal abuse that prompts me to avoid all types of meat completely. I have nothing against people who can not turn vegetarian or won't, but I simply don't believe we have to torture another living being before killing them to feed us. I feel that if I buy non organic meat, I am supporting this unnecessary cruelty and that I am in a way as guilty as the abuser. I have heard people say that even organic farm can't guarantee non abusive actions so the best way to go is not to eat any type of meat at all. I can not change the world but I can change myself. I may not be able to be 100% vegetarian but year after year I will not drop the plan easily.
