Final Episodes |
|
I was mildly stunned when it was announced last week that they would be airing the final 2 episodes of Prison Break for the season. I'm thinking, we only got to see a few episodes! They have been preempted a couple of times due to other programming. I feel the viewers are being cheated on many of the shows now, and I'm seriously considering giving up all of my favorite shows. How do you feel(if you're a regular viewer), about just one more episode of Prison Break?

worldwise1 (6110) | 2 years ago | Many of us loyal fans thought the same at the end of last season, fineartist, but we were surprised when the new season got off to a rousing start. I wouldn't be so sure this is the end of Prison Break. At least they have not killed off many more of the main characters this season.

2. cortjo73 (2279) | 2 years ago | I'll miss it! I love this show! I can't get enough of the eye candy Wentworth Miller. But, I just look at is as something to look forward to. And, the finale looks outstanding!
I feel the way you do about the whole preempted issue except, I feel that way about an entire channel. CBS ticks me off. There are more shows that I watch on CBS that I miss about a half an hour of because of football or something else. So, I have just gotten into a habit of scheduling most CBS shows to run a half hour or more past the start time (on my Tivo) in order to make sure that I catch all of it. The worst show for that has been Cold Case. I have seen less than half of all of their episodes because of CBS's inability to plan ahead.
Lost is notorious for cutting of the last minute of its episodes on ABC so, I now schedule it to record the new episode plus Eli Stone, which airs after it and an additional half an hour to cover any overlapping.
Do you have a Tivo or any other DVR? You might consider just making it a habit to set it up for extra time after the end of an episode to cover any preempting that might occur.
Hang in there! You never know what your devotion might prove to be worth!

whittby (2039) | 2 years ago | Good point. I'm now doing this on the DVR when we lost the last two minutes of American Idol last night. Irritating. After the SuperBowl, I set the dvr to record the next hour of news on the schedule, or I would have missed half the episode of hour. Whit

worldwise1 (6110) | 2 years ago | No, cortjo, I don't have either of those things to help keep me from missing a show, but I don't think it would make a difference when the entire episode is preempted. I see this happening more and more. I wish they'd go back to scheduling programs the old way.

cortjo73 (2279) | 2 years ago | Worldwise, you might check your local listings when that happens. One of my favorite shows had that happen 2 last season due to sports...which ticked me off because I am not a sports fan. The show was How I Met Your Mother and they aired it again on Saturday or Sunday at 1 or 2 that same week. So, when that happens, check your local listings to see if it will be rerunning in your area. They did that with CSI: Miami and The Big Bang Theory, and several other shows that I watch.
You just have to be vigilant because it may not show up in your listings right away. It is a huge pain in the butt though when that crud happens. It is a good way to turn fans off from both the show and the station whose job it is to air it.

3. whittby (2039) | 2 years ago | I gave up on Prison Break a while ago. I really liked it in the beginning, but I missed some episodes and never caught up so quit watching. I don't see how they could keep going too much longer with the plot, although there are always a few twists (look at Lost and that show just keeps going and going). I was losing interest anyway, I have to admit. You probably don't remember the Fugitive, the old TV show and the movie they made about it too? The plot line was similar. Whit

worldwise1 (6110) | 2 years ago | Of course I remember The Fugitive, whittby! It was one of my favorite shows, and I really liked the movie too. Prison Break is an innovative show with clever writers, and I think they can keep it going for a long time if they would just stop preempting it so much. I hate it when they break the seasons up the way they are doing.
