well, thanks so much for your courage in me and my cake decorating. oh my gosh! that was a team of professionals doing that car cake, if i attemped to do something like that by myself with a cake, it would take one person a long long time. by the time that one person would get finished with the cake, it would be stale and nasty. lol. and yes, it was the Sound Of Music playing on the video as well.

and i hear ya about people making cake creations like they have done with this car, even put a motor in it. too bad nobody got to eat any of the cake. and your funny, no alot small scale nascar, but i want it real looking, not like a toy car. any suggestions? thanks.

If they have the engine mounted and drive it out, and get into any accident, the car will become cake...literally!! LOL

Do let me have a little time to think about the nascar. Is this another cake order you received or your son was annoyed he couldn't get the spider or van cake, and demanded a nascar cake from you?

got an order coming for a nascar cake soon, and then a little boy in the neighborhood wants a nascar cake on his birthday as well.

yes, it is. i think that the Daytona 500 was this past Saturday. the racing season here in the States has already started. i ordered a Nascar baking pan from e-bay (which my hubby was against me doing, because of the e-bay strike going on) but i needed that baking pan and my brother let me use his e-bay account to win the bid on the baking pan. so i shouldn't be needing your help with the Nascar cake. :)

I think I know what you have ordered, because I have seen the nascar baking tray quite a few times on the internet. But if you change your mind and do need any help, just pm me. I read my emails everyday, so I can usually respond to you within the day.

Dr Saraf, you can certainly taste Rhonda's cakes. Just order one from her, and she will pm me to help design one. But you can be sure it will be quite a costly cake, 'cos shipping it all the way to India will probably cost more than the cake itself!

isn't that the truth! whoo hoo! i would have loved to have gotten to help out with the making of the car cake that was in the video. too bad nobody got to eat any of the cake. what a shame to waste all of it. i think that the article said that the speedometer and something else were the only two things that were kept on the car cake. i think that my next cake project is going to be a Nascar racing cake, but i want it to look like a real car, not a toy car. oh my gosh! you need to let it download for fifteen minutes, these people made a lifesize car out of cake, even had a motor in it. you need to watch it.

i hear ya, wasn't that amazing what that those people did with that cake? yeah, a lifesize car! whoo hoo! isn't that great? and i do not know what that they used to keep the pieces from breaking and falling apart, lots of fondant and icing? the article that somebody posted to this discussion said that all of those people that were involved in making this lifesize car, were all professionals in their field, ex., bricklayers? people like that got involved with it also.
