Soldiers are human too. | | Recently an article was posted online that on some time on or around Thursday Jan 31, a few lawmakers began to get fed up with the "lack of progress in Iraq" in their opinion, and have decided to plot some type of petition and or bill requesting the National Guard come home. Now, from my understanding and from what I've read, the government truly has not confirmed Iraq has been a threat (Or federal threat) lately, therefore leading to the conclusion and or accusation that it is NOT a threat. What does this mean? Well, it'd look to me like that means if Bush or some others don't get together soon and reclaim that it is, that Vermont is saying their National Guard troops should come home. I as well think this is a fair request, and hope that other states will begin to get involved with this as well. I say this as in a worst case scenario, we still have and can continue to keep and or slowly bring back our Army, and Army reserves. Surely we have our share of problems here and could use the extra help from the National guard? The Army National guard has a dual responsibility, I think it's time they were given more opportunities to exercise their first one, state. ... What about you?
