Boys find live World war II grenade  |

|  2 boys searching for 'treasures' came up with one treasure any parent would not be thrilled for their kids to find, outside of the normal nails, toy car, etc, they came up with a WWII hand grenade...
they were going to put it in a bucket of water, when the father came home and grabbed it and took it driving in his car before he decided that wasn't the smartest thing to do.....
The air force took the grenade and destroyed it.

| |  My husbnad loves old war stuff so he would have been thrilled if my son had found something like that. It would really scare me thought thinking about my child playing in a field where a granade was laying I am happy the grenade did not go off.

| |  I don't have an answer for you except I would be so very scared. I would probably be calling 911 and screaming for all the neighbors to come and help me. I also would be praising God that the kids hadn't been hurt by this thing.

| |  Check for the story (in Florida) where a school is built on a WWII land mine... the ArmyCorp of Engineers had to come out and sweep to make sure they were all gone and far from it... in fact I think one just exploded the other day.

| |  Hi mooch! That is really scary! I am just glad to know that no harm had fallen to the children with that grenade. If it happened to me and my kids found it, I will call on the police and ask them to get it. I really do not know what to do if the police wouldn't come over and dispose it themselves. And will ask the police to further scan the area because something more might be there in the area. Just my thoughts. Take care and have a nice day! :)

| |  Yikes! Those boys were lucky it didn't go off in their hands. If I was to find one, I would take it to the nearest army base and let them deal with it. If one isn't close, they take it to the police.
