LOL, that is funny that you could not figure out how to turn it on. Even better that the 12 year old told you how. Just goes to show that we should read the instructions. I am bad about that at times too. I just want to take it out of the box and start using it.

I am LOL because I read the title and knew this had to be about a Kirby! Hangs head in shame...Join the club. I couldn't figure out to turn my on either. ROFL...I've had it 8yrs now. We'd just got out carpet into our first home when the Kirby man came knocking. We bought it on the spot. The next day I pulled it out into the middle of the room and just looked at it. I could not find the on twitch. Later that day the cable man came to install our line and he said " I believe you're looking for this " and switched it on. Said he had one at home and they too couldn't find the on switch...It must be a common problem with her Kirby owners..:) Welcome to the Kirby family - oh and keep that thing away from small squeaky toys - My dog never forgave for that....

Actually no, I saw my dad mess too much stuff up that way. I at least skim the instructions.

I am responding to tell you how JEALOUS I am! A month ago I had a really nice couple of young people gave me a free demo, which included shampooing all my carpets!! I was thrilled with the results better than any commercial cleanings I have had. All the other things it did was fantastic. My next project is to save for one. It was also suggested that I could get a used one as they have ones that people turn it when they get a newer model and they come with a warranty. You are so lucky...I too would have been so excited I probably would not have found the starter either!! LOL

A few years ago I bought a table saw. I assembled what needed assembling then was very upset to find out that no saw blade was provided for the saw. This wouldn't have been such a big deal except that I have to drive about 70 miles to get a blade. I had specifically asked the salesperson if a blade came with the saw and was told that the blade was provided.

I drove the 70 miles to get a saw blade and when I got back and was cleaning up the box that the saw came in, I found the blade taped to the top of the box. Doh!

Hehe..oh yes, I've done that. Some years ago I gave in and got myself a DVD player. Now you have to understand, I DO consider myself technically inclined...I used to work in the college music recording studio and if you know how to hook up jacks, cables and know your inputs and outputs for one thing, you can pretty much know how to hook up anything else....so the genius here (meaning me) figured oh, no problem about hooking up..okay that wasn't the problem...it was understanding how to program a DVD--I mean lets face it the difference between a VCR and DVD is a bit different--so when my DVD player wasn't doing anything I finally humbled myself and grabbed the manual and carefully read it line by line to figure out what the hell I was doing wrong. Oh, and don't ask my charming experience when I got my computer. It's one thing to go to a library or internet place and use their computers and everything is nicely hooked up already...another thing when hooking up the computer itself on your own--I think I near had a nervous breakdown hooking up everything..and the language I was using would have made a trucker blush..LOL

I'm sure I've bought several things that I couldn't figure out how to use at first but my memory is alluding me at the moment LOL. I'm feeling very stalled tonight - probably from all that spanking.

Those Kirby's are pretty neat. My great-grandmother had one once. It did look pretty complex and it was pretty nasty to when you emptied it out LOL. But very handy. I have thought about getting one myself. But they're a little to expensive for me at the moment :)

Been there, done that! I was helping my B/F clean his newly tiled floor and he brought his Kirby out so I could use it. I must have looked for a solid 10 minutes before he walked back in the room and flipped the switch! LOL We ended up breaking up - but not before he purchased a new one and gave me the old one. I considered that a real bonus! LOL

i got a new laptop this month,and i was so excited about it,
that i didn't even want to even learn all about the features
that it had.Especially since it has Windows Vista on it.
I now know how to work everything on it.But when i first got it,
i was so excited,that i couldn't hardly see straight.

ROFLMFAO omg Zuk thats so funny!! I think the most pathetic moment I had along those lines was with my stovetop kettle.....I had this cheap simple thing for MONTHS...and to fill it I'd just tip it and fill it by way of the spout...then my gf came over and stayed with us for a few days...I walk in the kitchen and she's got the top of my kettle off, filling it..I was like HOW'D YOU DO THAT?! she looks at me with this puzzled look and says "um you just take the lid off" I damn near died becuase I'd TRIED to take it off when I first bought the damn thing but couldnt get it off so I figured it wasnt suppose to come off LOL Turns out it was just really tight...

sad thing is...I STILL fill it through the spout :-/
