| What are the basic "must have" tools for a new home owner?  | | | |  There are some nice kits available which include screwdrivers, hammer, pliers, adjustable wrenches, tape measures and more. I'd get one that comes in a case. Besides these essentials, you gotta get a variable speed cordless drill, preferably a good one that is 12 or 14 volts. There are alot of good brands, Makita comes to mind. They run a little over $100. If all else fails, find an Irish boyfriend to help..
