Have you ever had a crack in the head sandwich?  |

|  No I am not going insane! Here in VA, my husband frequents this little country store that has a fantastic deli/fast food area. He stopped there one day and called me laughing. He told he had just had a crack in the head sandwich. Of course I made him explain. When he ordered his fried egg sandwich, he asked the older gentleman, who did the cooking, if he would please leave the yoke a little runny. The man looked at him and grinned and said, "Oh you want me to Crack it in the Head!". Hence the name of the egg sandwich.
This sandwich is served on a bun that has been lightly buttered and toasted, the egg is sunnyside up, then flipped, reach underneath with a knife and crack it's little head, place cheese on top, transfer to bunn and add lots of bacon. I think it's the name that makes the sandwich so good! In fact I think it's almost time for one here!

| |  That does sound good. I bet if you top it off with a little syrup would give it that extra kick to it. I am from VA as well and yes they do serve sandwhiches like that especially the southern part of VA. Don't knock it until you try it.

| | It sounds good, and sounds like an over easy egge with the yoke cracked. I don't do bacon very much though. I heard it's really bad for you and it gets a little sickening after awhile because it is so salty. I'm not that much into the taste of extremely salty food. | | | | | | |

| |  well I reckon I have had a "Crack in the head" sandwich on more than a few occassions - that explains a lot@! though, I never knew that was what I was eating! lol, I just thought it was a fried egg sandwich with cheese.
