The Manifestation Of Heavy Metal

Metal as I remember it was melodic and had some meaning like Led Zepplin and Grand Funk RR was kind of simple but always kept me listening they were one of the loudest and heaviest bands I ever heard. But what happened between the 80's and now? Not too long ago I had a misunderstanding with another myloter when I spoke out of line. The lead guitarest of a metal band was shot dead right on stage and I not knowing anything about this guitarest or his band automaticly degraded them for the type of band they were and what they stand for, I appoligized to that myloter for my arrogance. Well I just seen a biography of the band on VH1 and even tho I did put my foot in my mouth it seem's it was not unfounded! This band had a policy that everyone in the band and any back stage visitors had to get stinking drunk before the band would take the stage, and any other band who was also playing that night would also have to drink. And when they finaly would take the stage some of the people in the audiance would get beat to heck, black eye's broken limbs, and trips to the ER a common event for band members and fans with drug and alcohol od's. I dont know about you all out there but this is not my idea of fun.
