Must you drink wine with a wineglass?  

I suppose I'm not that picky about what my food or drink goes on or in, as long as it is clean. I don't have to drink wine out of a wineglass, though I have heard it is suppose to be better for tasting it because of the shape or something silly like that. I have quite often drank wine out of cheap plastic cups... but then it was usually cheap wine too. I do prefer wineglasses though, especially for special occasions.

Sorry to hear about the sad demise of Alpha and Beta.

Oh my goodness baby...I was too engrossed with the activities on the other side of the world that I forgot about Alpha and Beta. You must be terribly sad losing them. Every time we have a round of virtual drinks, I always use the regular glass. You are too impatient to wait for me to look for my wineglasses, lol.

Kidding aside, I never bothered to use wineglasses. Its too thin and there's not enough room for the ice. I heard from somewhere that the alcohol company is planning to put Eta and Zeta on sale, lol.

To borrow from the Bard ..a wine glass by any other name (cup) holding nectar would still taste as sweet...LOL

well, i will only drink wine out of a glass, although it need not be a wine glass if i cant find one lol. It just doesnt taste the same if its not in a glass lol

So sad, what happened to Alpha and Beta.

Personally, I have never understood why people insist on drinking wine from wineglasses. I would think anything that serves the purpose of holding your portion until you are ready to drink it would be adequate.

I've seen people bring wine to a picnic and while everyone else is drinking punch or beer from plastic cups or bottles, they are sitting with their legs crossed, sipping their wine, while they try to look relaxed like they're not worried it will be broken by a ruaway frisbee if they set it down for a moment. Seems to me using a plastic cup would have made it easier for them to relax and have a good time.

In that type of casual situation, and in fact most of the time, I see no reason a plastic cup or small glass won't do.

If I were at a formal dinner party, I would expect to be using a wineglass.

Wine is a drink of Gods and how dare you drink it in a cup and moreover in cheap glasses. Go ahead and buy that Omega for the ambience and mostly respect sake. You can not insult a wine like that, unless you drink a cheap one.lol

You could just drink the wine out of the bottle and save time by not having to wash any glasses! :)

Well, I prefer a wine glass. I don't drink much wine
anymore. It seems to upset my stomach no matter what the type.

No, if a wine glass is not available, I would drink the wine from a mug if I wanted it badly enough.

I do have my favorite mugs, cups, and glasses for different beverages and they are just not as enjoyable to me if drank from a different vessel then what I prefer.

I would be very sad without my soda mug and favorite "huge" coffee cup..lol
That is why I have 2 of each..lol

We had 2 shot glasses with stems..they were very pretty cut crystal glasses, but one broke a leg in transit during a move and now there is only one and we take extra special care of her as we cannot find any others like her.:(

All kidding aside. Personally if I wanted the glass badly enough, I would probably pay the price.

I prefer to drink my wine from a wine glass, a nice large wine glass to be percise. If a proper wine glass is not available then any glass or crystal glass will do.
What I will not do though, is to drink wine from anything plastic or anything that holds only 2 or 3 ounces.

Jush wrap the wine bottle in a plain brown wrapper and shwig or shlurp away if no one is watching. Thash what I do with my Thunderbird.

If someone ish watching just point your pinkie heavenward and shwig away. Itsh YOUR wine!
