How do you like your coffee? |
| |
| Mean! I like my coffee mean and robust! I want it to reach up out of the cup, assault my nose with it's rich aroma and explode in my mouth with it's richness everytime I take a sip! Yeah! That's coffee! I also take my cream and sugar with a little coffee! LOL I was fortunate as a young man in that I was stationed in Europe where coffee or cafe' is not just popular but considered a staple of life! The absolute best coffee I ever had was in Munich in a little gasthause where it was served with warm brochen (rolls) and sliced meats and cheeses. Heavenly! Then I went to Italy and had espresso! Oh what a delight a real espresso is! My only disappointment was that it was served in shot glasses! Yes, very tiny cups which only offered a scant taste. I understand why of course, the average person has an espresso and is wired, a double shot makes most people climb the walls like a ferret on speed and my favorite, the tripleshot would put a lot of folks into a caffeine induced coma! Not me! I am a caffeine addict and spent my youth drinking mountain dew! Caffeine has so little effect on me that it is unnoticeable! LOL When it comes to brewing coffee everyone has their favorite methods. In a standard 12 cup automatic drip coffee maker, some folks use 3 scoops of coffee which results in a see through brew, others like four scoops and a few dare to use five scoops for an almost but not quite black brew. Me? I like six scoops and dare light to try and penetrate! It eats spoons at will and sucks up light like a black hole! Now that's coffee! As for my brew, I prefer to use european blends by Gevalia which are not extremely expensive but still higher than your typical store bought. In keeping with budgetary concerns though, I like most, rely on Folgers or other store bought coffees for the majority of time with my favorites being Hazelnut and Cinammon usually with a scoop of Chocolate Silk for added flavor. Do you like coffee? How do you brew it? How do you drink it, black, cream, sugar, cream and sugar? | | | | | |

| | I'm having a cup now! yummy! I make mine see-thru (three scoops is plenty!) if I can't see the bottom of the cup it's too strong and I will just use it to clean the driveway! lol! 6 scoops is a heck of a LOT of coffee! whoa! your guts have to be screaming for you to stop! lol! I take my coffee with a ton of sugar and lots of coffee creamer (not the cold liquid creamer cause that makes the coffee get colder sooner) sometimes I put a scoop of hot chocolate mix into it.. and it's fantastic! I buy hazel nut and vanilla creamers and use them from time to time but I really just like mine plain. I tried the cinnamon and didn't care much for that at all. I am constantly teased by my husband who says that I'm only drinking coffee flavored milk and sugar! lol! true, I suppose.. but I love it! lol! I've only drank my coffee like this since I was 5 years old! lol! yeah, I had a cool grandmother who gave me coffee and cigarettes while we watched soaps all day! lol! shhhh! don't tell! lol! | | | | | | |

| | Well, other than your coffee sounding rather weak and in need of being distilled to get to the coffee, I like your ideas about the cream, sugar and definitely the hot cocoa mix! I thought I was the only one that added that to my coffee and for sure it has to be the mix with the little marshmallows! :) | | | |

| | I don't! lol I'm not really a coffee fan. I like cold coffees though because after they fix it and add all the things they normally add to the coffee, they really don't have any taste of the coffee left. If it weren't for the cold latte drinks, I wouldn't be drinking any coffee at all. | | | | | | |

| | LOL!!! Okay then! Well I find this bit of info helpful as I am going to be opening an internet cafe and would like to be able to serve all potential patrons. So it sounds like if I heat some water, add cream, sugar, frothed steamed milk, add a sprinkle of cinnamon and call it a coffeeless latte, it would be right up your alley! | | | |

| | I drink my coffee black. I use three heaping or four regular scoops in my twelve cup pot. The folks at church are sure I am full of sin for having that much stimulation!!!! I had to quit making coffee for Sunday school for fear of corrupting them. My husband says his grandma made coffee in a vat, and measured her grounds by the handful, not the scoop. She boiled it all day. He said someone fooled her once. While her back was turned they stuck a cut off spoon in her cup, to try to make her think it had just melted off in her coffee. | | | | | | |

| | I've found spoons like that but I was alone! I remember the old days of percolators and even boiling water in a pot with the grounds tossed in. These days this method is used mostly by coffee connoisseurs who like to crack the crust, grounds and foam on top after pouring, to check the bouquet before straining and drinking. If your church folks think your coffee is a sin then maybe my wife is right and mine is evil! LOL | | | |

| | You sound as if you'd like my coffee! I was drinking Que Buen Cafe, a Mexican espresso but they stopped making it. Cuban espresso is very good, too. Right now I'm drinking Medaglia D'Oro, an Italian espresso. I don't have an espresso maker. I put 4 scoops of espresso in my drip coffee maker for 6 cups of coffee and it's heavenly--as you say, it eats spoons at will! Caffeine doesn't affect me. I can drink a pot before I go to bed and sleep like a log. I can't understand why anyone would ruin a perfectly good cup of coffee with cream and sugar and figure they don't really like coffee, just something warm and sweet. | | | | | | |

| | Yes you definitely sound like my kinda coffee drinker. As for the cream and sugar, I am a sweets loving person and rarely drink beer due to the bitterness, the sugar and cream add the sweet I need! Did you know that Mr. Coffee makes a single serving espresso maker with milk steamer which is available at walmart for under $30? I have one and it works great! You can even take standard coffees, grind them to an espresso grind and make an excellent brew! | | | |

| | Definitely not a coffee fan. My da and grandda always drank it. More my da now. I can't stand the taste of it. Da used to try and get me to drink it when I was younger and I refuse to have any now. Even the iced coffees I can't stand. | | | | | | |

| | I have to say right now I wish I could like coffee, however i can't, so I like my coffee to not exist. I will take a nice cup of hot tea, or a nice tall glass of ice tea... lemon for my hot tea, lemon or fresh pineapple for my iced tea. Outside of that my other 'poison' would be hot chocolate which is probably just as bad as coffee, and in that I prefer hazelnut flavoring. I wish I could like coffee, but I think that I was forced to try to drink it, I always found it bitter and needless to say no amount of sugar or cream would help that taste. Mooch | | | | | | |

| | I realize coffee is not for everyone but I too am fond of tea! I prefer hot tea of the black tea varieties made like my coffee, strong and dark. Hot chocolate is of course another favorite, with little marshmallows and whipped cream in a thick ceramic mug! | | | |

| | Ahhhhh.....so you like what my daddy and husband calls, "Truckers Coffee". Where you put a spoon in and it stands up straight! Sounds as if you have had alot of experience with coffee's in your life. I like 4 scoops in the pot for 12 cups. We use a blend of Kona and Hazelnut creme. I use french vanilla in mine, and the hubby uses Cinnamon/Hazelnut creme. I love trying the different flavored coffees. My son in law uses an on line distributor for speciality ones, but we just settle for the Millstone brand from Wallyworld, and grind our own at home! Here's to a great cup of coffee to start your morn! | | | | | | |

| | Trucker's coffee, yup sounds right! Millstone coffees are good and a great price for beans by the pound. On those occassions I buy millstone, I like to mix the flavors and roasts to come up with unique tastes! Sometimes I will take the french roast and add some of the almost black breakfast beans and a little of the chocolate! Delicious! | | | |
