1. Foxfire1875 (1225) | 2 years ago | It is a very good idea to teach children a martial art. It keeps them fit and also gives them a lot of confidence.
Israeli children are taught Krav Maga at school, so that they can defend themselves from an early age.

pegaxs (167) | 2 years ago | I'm in agree with you...when I lived in the conutry where I was born I helped my "sensei" in teaching children karate and they where so kind! sorry can you tell me something more abput Krav Maga?

Foxfire1875 (1225) | 2 years ago | Sure:) Krav Maga has only been around for about 60 years and is Israeli. It was devised by a man called Imi sde-Or (Lichtenfeld), who was a Jew living in Slovakia and he put it together to defend himself during war time. It is made up of a lot of different styles, boxing, muay thai, ju-jitsu, probably a few others but has evolved it's own style.
There are 3 grade sections - practioner, graduate and expert, each of these has 5 levels to them. I'm only at P2 level, but I have a grading soon, so I will be a P3 hopefully.
I like it because it is an easy style to learn and doesn't need a high level of fitness or strength to do it. If there's anything else you want to know, then just ask:)

Foxfire1875 (1225) | 2 years ago | It is different to belts. We receive a patch to wear on our trousers, that is the colour of our level for example I wear a yellow patch with one black line. That tells everyone that I have passed my first grade, which is practioner 1. When I pass my next grade it will still be yellow but with two black lines and I will still be a practioner.
Once I've passed 5 practioner grades then I start on the Graduate grades (5 again), which are blue with the black lines. Then finally Expert (5 again). The top grade is master but I doubt I'll get that far.
We also have a Krav passport, which we record our grades in, so that if we go to another club, we can prove that we have the grades we say we have.

| 2. Daisyshu (18) | 2 years ago | In my opinion, it is great for a child to learn some martial arts. When I was a little girl, I really wanted to learn some martial arts. It was a pity that I had no chance. When I have children, I will persuade them to learn some. Martial arts can not only keep them fit, but also give them the ability to protect themselves. Martial arts do not mean violence. To the contrary, the people who learn martial arts know how to control their power and to protect the weak.

pegaxs (167) | 2 years ago | Yeah, I agree with your opinion abouy pepole who play martial arts... But why didn't have any chance? Didn't your relative want you to play them? When I was a little girl happen something similar to me: I was about 4 whenm I began asking my parents to make me do Karate, but didn't want because I was little and girl: they believe I could hurt myself. So they try to make me do other sports or playing piano, but I always said no...so when I was 13 my father enrolled me to a karate course!!!!

| Daisyshu (18) | 2 years ago | I really have no chance to learn any martial arts. Firstly, I was born in the countryside where I could not find any related clubs. Secondly, the financial condition of my family made me have no financial ability to afford the tuition. Thirdly, my family believed that what I learnt in class was enough to me. Now, I can find a club and I can afford the lessons of martial arts, but I'm too old to learn some to be a great master. Maybe when I retire, I will learn Taichi.

pegaxs (167) | 2 years ago | I'm sorry that in past you couldn't learn more martial arts, but I think it's never too late!!!! I'm 27 and I'm managing to learn kung fu because I discover that here in my country there's a club where learn shaolin
