Hi everyone I finally got a date for my surgery May the 12th. And I cant wait to get it done now. We changed health insurance carriers so I had to wait for it to kick in. And with this surgeon you must have a date months in advance. He is head of the neurological surgery department. And not bad to look at either.LOL Im not nervous or scared but thats now. Im sure I will be when the time gets closer to the surgery. I only hope I will be able to dance with the stars.LOL

May 12th does sound like a while to wait, but then again surgery tends to be something you have to wait for. Glad to hear that you got it scheduled and are going to be able to have it.
I'm sure you'll be able to dance with the stars, TerryZ! :)

Transdisc would hate to lose his partner. : ) At least now you can plan around the surgery. I hate knowing I have to do something, but I don't know the date. So the surgeon is a hottie? Well, you know you're going to flash him because of the surgery, so maybe you should write 'bottoms up' on your rear end right before the surgery. lol

Anytime you need a hug or someone to hold your hand Wolfie will be there for you! May 12th won't be long, the time is whizzing past sweetheart, and you'll be just fine, I think I am more nervous for you and it's not me going in, well I've got my urodynamics test coming up and I'm still waiting for my letter for the referral. So he's a nice looker eh? I'm definitely coming over to hold your hand, I'll dance with you! Nice slow mooch eh? xxxx

I sure hope all goes well for you...I still have my herniated disk and it is still driving me bonkers...I think I'm going to get a second opinion...Being in my neck, it makes me all the more nervous...I had the corizone injections, but little they did....good luck and keep up posted...

I had 3 injections in my lower spine, and its worked for over a year to keep the pain and numbness down. The nurses at the hospital when I had it done said that a lot of the good result comes from who GIVES them... I luckily had the best spine guy in our area. If its just a tiny bit off, it won't work... but I went in with a cane, and came out almost dancing! I'm sending everyone I know to him... I wish you guys lived here!

Everything is easier when the view of the surgeon is quite pleasant on the eyes. *wink* Good luck with the surgery and recovery processes. I will keep you in my prayers.

Glad to hear that you now have a date for your surgery Terry - and it's not too far off! It will be here before you know it. You will be so relieved to have no pain whatsoever. I hope the surgery goes well, and will be thinking of you.
You will soon be up and about and dancing with the stars - or at least, dancing with Wolfie, lol!

Considering the date is over 2 months away, I am guessing it isn't too serious? Then again, surgery is serious regardless, I will be praying and hope all goes well..Keep us updated..:)

Ok, did you want to go to Hawaii before or after the surgery?, lol!....I say after so you can recuperate on those nice warm sandy beaches, and I of course, will bring you all the coconut juice you want to drink. You will have a good laugh at me being a monkey and all, climbing the palm tree to get those coconuts too!.....And yes, we will dance to our hearts content!

Hey Terry, this is funny. I was commenting on my first response to you (in the beginning), and now I have a whole new response listed. I'm confused. I'm in two places at once, haha, gee, never did that before. Maybe I have a split personality that I didn't know about, but myLot does, hahahahha.

Thanks for the reminder about the type of surgery. I am sure the time will both slow down and speed up, depending on how you feel on any particular day. You know a lot of people will be praying for you these next two months.

SO this is a surgery that you already knew you would be having, it was just a matter of getting the doctor to set the date ?
It's certainly usually easier when it's not something unexpected, I think - then again maybe not :)
It's great that you will be having a good surgeon - that really helps :)

That is great news Terry and even better that you aren't nervous yet! i am sure you will be as time gets closer but we will all work hard to distract you from that! My thoughts and prayers will be with you - but only if you remind me closer to the time cos since my surgery my brain and memory are so fragile! Ok they were like that before but see you can use it as an excuse for all your little faults! lol xxxx

Hey it never hurts that your surgeon is a looker..hehe...When I had my surgery in 1980 I was so in love with my surgeon...All us "Gals" on his floor were in love with him too...we could always tell when he was around...either heard him, cause he wore those clip cloppy type shoes or smell him a mile away...oh, did he ever smell good...heheee--anyway, whenever we knew he was around, we quick "doll" ourselves up to look better
You'll be in my thought and prayers Terry...too bad you have such a wait it seems but at least now you'll finally get it over with..(((hugs)))

Hey--- I've had my first fusion, and the Dr said that he'll see me again... darn! I'd hoped he was wrong! I had C5-C6 done... are they going through the front? Where's your pain, and what did you take for it? The only thing that worked when my right hand felt like it was in boiling oil was Ultram. After surgery, I needed nothing!
Well, except and occasional Valium when being in the brace made me evil... but that took a while to happen.
You'll do fine... you did it once, so you know what to expect. And these Drs are good!!

I know what you're feeling... I've had a lot of problems, but the 4 months I spent before they diagnosed me on this one were pure torture. I still take Ultram every 6 hours, with an Ibuprofen to help it get to work, cuz its the only thing that works for me when it comes to nerve pain. I still have bad discs in my back and nerve damage in my left hand, and before I got back on the meds I was a basket case.
This is one of the few surgeries that was truly positive for me... it felt like a miracle. I've stopped making the wedding gowns cuz that caused the problem... having my head down while doing all the hand sewing. I'm being very careful on the computer... I really don't want it to happen again... the pain is indescribable!
All my best wishes to you for a great outcome!! ....jelo
