|  Do you remember what lullabies they used to sing to you when you were little? And if you have kids, which do you sing to your them?
My mother had a very weird selection for me lol weird to say the least...no wonder i grew up the little revolutionary rebel i became...she was often singing me the standard lullabies but her favourites were some patriotic italian songs from the resistance against fascism http://www.youtube.com/wa...
And one from our greatest songwriters, or poets rather...the song is called GEORDIE and it's about an English outlaw: his girlfriend in the song is pleading to the King not to kill her Geordie since he only stole once 6 deers from the king's park selling them for money...there was a beautiful version of this from him in duet with the great Joan Baez but unfortunately it's not on youtube...

I remember Bella Ciao, it was very popular when I was back in school and in scout camps.
We had it translated in our language and I remember one punk version of the song.
It was a song of Italian partisans and I can remember some words: O partigiano porta mi via, che mi sento di morir.
I don't remember my mom singing lullabies to me, but I sing to my kids. My younger one loves the one that goes:
In the room on the white pillow
And in the woods besides the old log,
We all should put our hand under our cheek,
Time has come to dream a sweet dream.
