1. rockvixen (826) | 2 years ago | I love a lot of his older stuff, but the newer books I still have to catch up on. I think The Green Mile is one I loved, it was sad and very good. Bag Of Bones was actually a bit of a ghost and romance novel, very interesting. Carrie is my favorite from the older books, and I also love Misery, that story had me going. Cell sounds pretty good. I may have to find that and read it. Everything Stephen King is very good. He not only does horror but he also does romance an suspense.

2. bochco123 (426) | 2 years ago | I'd say "Hearts In Atlantis" would be my favorite book of his. Probably the most emotionally satisfying and human book I've read of his. Bittersweet and heartbreaking. I'm about 770 pages into "IT" which is also a very good book. Just wish you could have edited it a little bit. It's over 1000 pages. When the guy writes, he certainly writes.

I love Eyes of the Dragon, did he continue it?
Very hard to pick one, my favs are:
It Needful Things The Bachman Books The Dark Tower Series The Dark Half The Talisman
And others I'm sure, just can't think of their titles atm. `~smile~~Tink

| 4. ice9nine (32) | 2 years ago | I like his early novellas best. "Shawshank Redemption" and "Apt Pupil" are stand-outs for me. I also love his autobiogrophy and writing guide "On Writing" so much that I've now read it three times!:) I hate to say something insensitive, but even though I have enjoyed many of his books, I do NOT enjoy his most popular novels which tend to get highly mystical. I was never so disappointed as when I read The Stand which started out so intriguing and wound up pitting angels and demons against each other...[oh, brother!!!] I understand he best known for his horror stories, but in my opinion, King's atypical, character-based stories, such as "Misery" and "Dolores Caliborne" are among his best.

7. Samanthavv (824) | 2 years ago | Honestly, I really don't like Stephen King. I really didn't know much about who he was until I was fourteen and this weird creepy kid in my class was all obsessive over him. It was rather disturbing. I saw part of the movie "Carrie" when I was fifteen, and it really didn't spark any interest in me. In the last year or two though, my younger sister, Rebekah, who is seventeen, has developed a great interest in him. She has a ton of books by him on her bookshelf at home, and she knows almost every title he's ever come out with by heart. She has a ton of movies of his, some recordings, some actual copies she bought. She just loves him to death and i have no clue why. She tried to get me to watch Pet Semetary with her, but it was just... Not my style.

8. revellanotvanella (1946) | 2 years ago | You know I cant even concentrate of fiction and it has nothing to do with Stephen King--I do love his nonfiction book "ON WRITING: a memoir.." does that count? I would recommend this book to any aspiring writer because it wasnt just boring technique but king's personal reflection, how he started just personal tidbits that were really inspiring.
If I did read fiction by him I would definately check out CELL, The Glass Tower books, the Dark Half, and Dreamcatcher because that movie was just out of control, maybe if I read it I could make some sense of it.
My best friend reads ANYTHING Stephen King and read the Green Mile series religiously and said they were really good but I have to go on the few bits of the movie that i saw and did not like, bad judgement, i know.
