I would have to say Star Trek. I watched that all the time growing up.

I'm gonna have to go with star wars on this one.

I mean star wars has Jedi's , Yoda, and Light sabers.

So I think star wars is the best.

You mentioned Star Wars under Reagan? Lol. I did like the first couple Star Wars movies some. never really got into Star Trek though. The only Star Trek stuff I liked was that next generation stuff with the bald headed captain. Darth Vader rocks!

Oh my my. Now heres something i can really get into and go geek on lol. I, as you can tell from my name and avatar, love star wars. Though I am also a trekkie and love star trek. Length and series wise star trek would have to win but if you are getting into the whole who would win in a fight, would be star wars. My parents were trekkies, i grew up watching star trek. The star wars universe is the more hmm realer? i know not a word, universe. Star trek everything is just to nice and cut and dry and when something blows up it has a flash and a few pipes and stuff fall down. Star wars stuff works how it should, you see dirt and grime and grease and when stuff falls apart they actually have to get their hands dirty to fix it.

Now to the person who said han solo had a love affair with a wookie? WHAT? where would you ever think that from? They had no love affair or anything like that. In the wookie culture when you save a wookies life they are in debt to you for life, or when they can save your life, sometimes they will stay with you even after that. They were NOT lovers or anything like that at all.

Star Wars. Deffinately Star Wars. What George Lucas has created will be remembered for generations to come.

Before I respond, does anyone know of an actual site that has the statistics broken down, finacially, poularity, etc?I would have to pick Star Wars. There's the Force, which can move entire warships. What's Star Trek got to compare? Then, there's the Lightsabers. If you're kick a@@ enough, who needs whimpy lil phasers, when you can dance in battle with this awsome weapon?

Definetely star wars. It had better stories and action and the light sabers are just too cool! I think though with Star Trek it's mainly a tv series, so the idea/novelty kind of wore off, but star wars only had 3 (proper!!) films so will be remembered for those films, unlike star trek with all the spin-offs!

I don't even have to think about this one, Star Wars hands down. It is soooo much better then all of the Star Trek movies. I actually thought the Star Trek movies were somewhat boring. I can't say the same about any of the star Wars, well maybe just the first one when Ankin was a little boy. I actually found that one to be quite boring, but that was the only one.
