Lucas offered a glimpse into the latest creation in his sci-fi universe at the theater-owners convention ShoWest on Thursday, showing a sequence from "Star Wars: The Clone Wars," a computer-animated movie due in theaters August 15. It will be followed by a TV series of the same name, to air on the Cartoon Network and TNT this fall. The movie came about as an afterthought while Lucas was developing an animated TV show of the same name. That show debuts this fall, but Lucas figured it was ripe for big-screen treatment, too.

There was something magical about the Star Wars story which persists. It seems to be a strong cash cow for producing new material. I'm glad to see things being turned out for the series, but I really think Lucas should turn his attention towards events after the original series now. New features. I expect, if Lucas lives long enough, that will come to fruition, too.

I am not a very big fan of Star Wars. However, some time ago I watched all its series and I liked it. I am surprised that even if it's an old movie, but it doesn't look so outdated today anyway. Its imagination is amazing. I am surprised that it will have one more series.
