If Someone Snaps At You  

When someone snaps at me, I bite my tongue. I take it all internally and very personally. I later cry about the hurt it caused. Unless its my husband, I just snap back at him ;)

My initial reaction is usually to bite my tongue. I take time to reflect on the situation. Did I do something to offend? Is this person having a bad day? Do they just need to vent? It isn't just in person, I am the same way regaurding discussions. Even if it is something I completely disagree with I won't just jump in and say so. I will wait until I can express my point of view in a way so as not to make them appear wrong. Afterall, having two different perspectives usually makes one look within. How did you come to that conclusion. Do you know it to be true. Can you back it up.
I also look at it from the can I be supportive point of view. Are they lashing out just to do so.
I have freinds that love to speak their minds. Sometimes they aren't very nice about it either. I am happy they feel they can come to me and do so. But I don't have to jump down their throat if I disagree. Sometimes a person needs an ear. Sometimes a person needs a voice. It takes a lot to make me snap. I have only snapped at my husband once in 15 years. He was harping on the same thing for 15 minutes and I had done nothing that he and his dad wouldn't have done. I felt great. I had to face the other way the rest of the day because I couldn't wipe the smile from my face.
