the day after a holiday ......and a DJ calling in sick |
|
Ok its not a major holiday, but one of the DJ's from my local country radio station called in sick this morning, and the DJ's were joking about it being sick from drinking because of yesterday being St. Patrick's day, or was she really sick, Having seen the discussion about somebody's husband ahving gone through the same thing, I didn't find it funny....and in poor taste, you could tell they were joking but I would have if I was awake called them and reemed them out, or I would be reeming them out, when I got back. How would you feel if your co workers did this publicly on the radio, I think its bad enough that it happens but for a co-worker that does that and on the radio is just in poorer taste. What do you think? Mooch

If it really bothered them, they'd find other work. Sometimes even the smallest thing is used for material.Nature of the dj biz I guess.I'd probably ask them privately not to the next time if it bothered me

I guess it depends on the "victim" if it's in poor taste or not.

That is how they work, that is how they play and that is how they relate. It was all in fun and even the DJ home sick in bed was probably laughing over it. Any one of the Dj's here would have called in, if feeling up to it, and defended right on the air the fact they were really sick. You should hear what goes on off the air. (I am not saying*I* personally think it is OK...I am saying that in that particular work environment it is not only accepted but encouraged.)
